Dayton, OH members?

Are there any active members in the Dayton, OH area? I've seen a hand full from Cincinnati and Columbus, but not Dayton and its 'burbs.

It's not a far drive, only 40 minutes from Cincinnati. I'm in the area often.

I don't go near down town even for business during the day.

3rd Street frightens me. ;)

There are a few places along Col. Glenn and Woodman/Harshman that look interesting, like the old Rallies and Meijer.

Seriously? You guys suck. Not that it matters anyways, all the good abandoned buildings in downtown have been renovated or torn down.

Well, that's nice and close! I have a a couple drains I've found too, one was 'meh', the one I'm working through now is pretty good, and I found another last night, but I expect it to be 'meh'

Also there's a hotel under construction across the street that I've eyeballed

I'm in Mason. Maybe a 45 minnute drive. never taken a close look but didn't see anything terribly interesting.

The Cartridge factory on Kings mill is a different story. Anyone who doesn't mind a criminal tresspassing charge should go.

The OH/KY/IN board is always looking for new members.

I also want to check out the buildings on the Dayton Bag and Burlap Co. property, I actually found it on Google Earth before I saw it on the database lol but I don't have a ride and it's too far to walk

Dayton bag and burlap is boring, but that's one place to go. I really doubt much is left at Frigidaire since the fire, and now that they have actually began construction. Could still be worth a look though.

The merc on webster street is still fair game I think, and the paper factory at the other end of town is probably explore-worthy.

If you're daring enough you could attempt the Franciscan, and Roosevelt high might still be standing, although last time I checked it out they were pretty far into demolition.

Its really too bad they took down the longworth steam plant as fast as they did. That place was the prime Dayton spot.

I saw that in the DB and it looked AMAZING too bad it's gone... and yeah, I know that the burlap buildings aren't all that exciting, but I figured they'd be a good place to make the transition from drains to structures

I feel like Dayton has a ton of potential as far as draining goes. When I lived there, I always noticed the abundance of big drains by the river. You should check the drains out...Could be more interesting than Dayton's industrial decay past.

Damn, I was wondering the fate of Frigidaire, thinking of heading up that way to find out myself.

Ah well, at least you saved me a 2 hour or so drive.

Thanks for the heads up, as soon as it warms up a little more I'll have to make the trek up to the river and see what I can see
