Do you have a preference?

A few mainstays
institutions: eg kirkbrides, schools
underground: eg brewery caves, drains, mines, utility tunnels
heights: eg roofs, towers, cranes
industrial abandonments

I love it all, though the underground stuff excites me most.

Sometimes, you can find wonders in rural regions.

If your not in the drainers forum you should be.

Excellent shot, BTW.

I like large scale heavy industry, power generation, construction sites, cranes, recently bitten the underground bug. Anything that is interesting, active or abandoned. I have yet to do a Kirkbride!

Industrial: Powerplants, factories, distileries, warehouses etc. The bigger the building and heavier the industry the better. Train shit is always cool.

Institutional: Asylums, Hospitals, Schools, Prisons, Military sites

I like residential like houses if the house has personality, but generally they are meh.

These days I'm all about condemned neighbourhoods. All the better if there are residents still fighting the corporate gangsters. But I'm going up to look at a couple abandoned US army bases tomorrow, so fingers crossed.

thus far i've only done industrial. an old abandoned gun factory and an active physics lab. the physics lab was at night with a friend who's a physics grad student and has a key. the particle accelerator and the tunnels underneath one of the labs were probably the coolest parts. oh, and the large hook for lifting the lid onto a basin-like thing. he actually lifted me up maybe 10-15 feet in the air with the hook. it was sweet.

If you make it to the southern U.S., the condemned New Orleanas housing projects would be worth exploring. It'll be some time before the city gets around to leveling these expansive abandonments. I explored this one last year. The Magnolia housing project. Very Chernoblesque.

Just to set the record straight, Kirkbrides were for retards.

I like the roadside thing. Gas stations, motels, drive in theaters, junkyards.

We are in a golden age of abandoned military infrastructure right now and I've been really enjoying that. It will probably all be gone within 10 years, so don't miss out.

I have to say that I'm with Lost America on that one... In the Bay Area we have (by my count) 7 Navy bases, and an assortment of Air Force, Army, support, and private industry buildings that were military contracts. One can spend YEARS exploring old military and never see it all. On that note, military is some of my favorite stuff to explore. It's amazing to see what we spent all of our tax dollars on....

I'd say I do love it all, but with a favour for drains and tunnels. I likes me the grimy darkness.

i have to say, to me, the drains, tunnels and underground places are my least favorite to explore [minus the missile sites, which i've never been to, and probably never will cuz it's a little unnerving to me.]

i like the military locations, hospitals and sites that have a lot of relevant history [like the abandoned washington packing that caused a 30% drop in tuna sales nationwide] are most interesting to me.

but places like: theatres, bowling alleys and homes are also interesting to me too because of what i might find inside them, but i have yet to explore either of those 3...

I'm into whatever I can find, but if I was to get picky, heights and institutions, and I'm getting interested in hospitals and schools specifically.
