| | | I liked Robert's film a few years ago called "echoes of forgotten places" and have been waiting for a while till he releases "Industria". Overview "Industria: The Revolution's Not Over" (the sequel to "Echoes of Forgotten Places") is a feature length documentary that brings to life the epic development of the core technologies that form the infrastructure of our civilization and how those same basic technologies are still in use today. The producers hope to give the viewer an appreciation of the hard work and ingenuity behind all of the comforts and conveniences we all enjoy today. Industria continues a tradition of ephemeral or industrial films which began in the early 20th century, but never continued beyond the 1970 s. These films were produced to educate the public on workings of the vast industrial infrastructure that supported our civilization. Sadly today, most people are acutely unaware of how clean water comes out of their taps, how electricity makes its way to their computers or where the materials that make up the average car come from." http://www.scribbl...com/industria.html Images: http://www.scribbl...ery_industria.html Featuring the CAMCO/Westinghouse 1923 boiler house -- one of my fav locations! I used to have all those channels but never learned about any of those things. I did of course learn a lot about monster trucks, druids, babies born with four arms and how to survive bear attacks. I hope Scribble gets around to finishing this project though. It seems like it's been over a year now since he last updated that site.. [last edit 3/3/2008 3:33 AM by micro - edited 1 times]
