How close can you go?

| | | I wouldn't have chosen Tampere (misspelled as Tempere on the site) as the Finnish representative on the list. Though I admit there's some abandonments centered on a relatively small region, I don't find them special enough to be one of the "wonders". Two almost completely vandalized factories and a dozen or so wooden houses in various states of decay. If I had to choose, I'd say Turku, which has already been described as the UE capital of Finland by the Finnish explorers.

| | | Wow, that website is EXCELLENT!! Not only did they get the general layout of Europe wrong, but they then STOLE copyright protected photographs and re-hosted them without the permission of the photographer(s) in question! And they are refusing to remove them, even though said photographer in question is asking nicely, not so nicely and flat out instructing. In short? I fucking hate wanky 'webmag' shit like this. Chris... PS: The list itself is also a pile of shite. [last edit 2/28/2008 8:47 PM by TurboZutek - edited 1 times]
We all had ostriches. My dad had an ostrich farm! I remember one day someone came in and said the high altitude bombing of Kosovo had been a limited success, so we all went out and celebrated… by killing an ostrich and boiling it in kiwi fruit. |

| | | Who makes these lists? The Ryhope Pumps are not abandoned; it’s a fucking museum. We had a private tour by the caretaker and the place is very, very well kept. They run the pumps every Bank Holiday. Beelitz is only less than half abandoned and more is being renovated as we speak.
Durbuy, not Mesen is the smallest town in Belgium. And they comment how odd it is that Mesen does not necessarily warrant rehabilitation? The building is way too far-gone to restore with out a complete, from the ground up rebuild, big money. I wonder about the accuracy of the info on the other places is? I think people who have been to the location should be the ones writing about them.

Nah*, but they did steal some of OT's - the one's from Belgium I think. Read the comments and you'll see a rich history of 'get my photos off here now please'! Chris... *All my images have a proviso granting post and re-host (unaltered) in the legalise... But those who don't shouldn't have their stuff hijacked, especially in association with a site and write up as lame as that one!

| | | Yeah, they're hosted by DreamHost.com, a bunch of fucking wankers if I ever met any. My friend who is a starving artist had over 500 of his photos jacked by a dweeb from Dreamhost who were selling his images online. Yes, selling them and making money from his work. He wrote to Dreamhost to ask that they remove the images. They asked that he send them some legal document which, despite the cost, he did. They refused to have the images removed. Thankfully he had a mate in California who wrote to the BBB there. After a whole pile of shit they still did not remove the images. So my mate's mate went around and slashed a few tyres and keyed a few cars. Surprisingly, even though there was no connection to my mate, his images were removed 2 days after that. Dreamhost are located at: DreamHost PMB #257 417 Associated Rd. Brea, CA 92821 USA FAX: 714-990-2600 That's in Orange County I belive, not far from Disney Land. Now I don't want to incite violence or anything, but if you choose to visit the place, or encourage your friends to do so, make sure you really get into the face of a guy there who goes by the first name of Fred. Last name unknown. He's in charge of dealing with abuse, so make sure you abuse him.
