| | | Hell, I'm new to this and found this site by accident. Are there any people that live in the huntington area that know of any cool spots to take pictures. I have heard rumors of tunnels and such in the city.

| | | Cool, good to find someone local. Nothing really in the way of abandonments in Huntington, but Ironton and some cities northwest of Ashland have plenty. As for tunnels, there are rumors of a small network in downtown Htgn, but that's for another story...

Dont forget about that town with Mothman. There is a abandoned TnT factory there.

| | | the tunnel system in huntington may be true..... I know a guy that owns a building downtown and he said the used to be a tunnel/passage in his basement but it was covered up in the '70s. There are other reports of tunnels leading from the river in the downtown area along with a tunnel from the frederick hotel to the keith albee. I would like to explore the storm drains and/or sewer sometime, I beleive that the tunnels from the past may be the modern sewer system. Does anyone know of any good places to check out in the area? The TNT area is in point pleasant, there are reports of a tunnel system that connects all 100 "igloos" in that area. This place was built during WW2 so its hard to say without actual facts.

| | | Oh yeah, those were formerly tunnels but no longer connect. They have been slowly restoring the Frederick, but you can probably still access the disused 6th floor and former ballroom. Next time I'm down there we'll have to get together and check out Huntington. It has a lot of grit and decay in places.

| | | Not much... Some attic space and a few more unused hotel rooms in various states of disrepair. If you could access it from the primary stairwell/elevator, there may be an empty office complex on that side, but I don't know. I'd rather get into the basement -- I've read about an abandoned Turkish Bath down there, which they may restore and reopen. Since I'm not certain what one looks like, I would find that interesting. As for the rumored tunnel complex under Huntington, I have my doubts. I've been 95% convinced that there's no tunnel connecting the Keith-Albee and the Frederick. I've been through the basement of the Keith, not kept out of any areas I wanted to visit, and I have not seen a tunnel entrance, open or not. I say 95% because I may have missed something, but I don't find it likely. If I were to access the basement of the Frederick and see nothing, I'd move it to 100%.
