| | Vehicle mods for UE exploration < on 12/28/2007 4:43 PM >
| | | I couldn't pull anything up in the search, so sorry if this topic was brought up before. Has anybody modified their vehicles in any way for UE'ing? Could be simple or extravagant. For me, it's been simple so far. 4x4 truck, flat grey primer exterior (bought it like this), very quiet muffler, portable spotlight, and underhood sound insulation. I'm currently working on getting some military blackout lights, or "Sneaklight", since I do most exploring in the dead of night. I know there's fancy infrared setup now, but the simpler, the better. The truck's appearance helps too. If I see some derelict cars at the site, I park near them and crack the hood, and it looks like another derelict vehicle.
I know night vision and GPS could be on the list too. [last edit 12/28/2007 4:44 PM by IDChris - edited 1 times]

| | | Oh yea this a thread i have been waiting for. I have a 99 wrangler (tj) and have started a few mods. Mag light mounts, Fog lights, military shovel, High lift jack, ( i also enjoy offroad trail riding). I have a few more i would like to do but taking them a couple at a time. IE brake light interrupt switch so i can turn them off for night exploring ( or just use my handbrake but comeon a switch is so much cooler) Also keep a metal detector with me and a Power inverter to charge camera batteries while on the go as well as run other equip. I still need to get a few other things up and going but thats it so far. anyone have any other suggestions?
I don't blame people for thier mistakes, but I do expect they pay for them. |

| | | One of two options. Option A) Strip everything worth stripping off a Spectre Gunship, White / Black Infrared, RADAR, Guidance systems, maybe the 40mm cannon, everything that has wires going to it, etc. Option A tank. Simple, none of this modding trucks BS! Love to see the rent-a-cops try and run down a tank. I say these things because I UE in a '91 mazda 626 with a penguin sticker on the side, frigging glorious.

| | | I recommend a WINCH! You can use it as an elevator that will pull you to the top of a building with a little creative grappling and a decent remote control.. As well as a Vehicle that will allow you to park on a manhole, have it (the car) open it for you so people can move in and out of said hole in ground. Extremely useful!
I will defeat that which was once untouchable only so that I may now move on |

Definately the best way to get around
http://cat.org.au/~predator/approach.txt There is a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can't take part; you can't even passively take part, and you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop... |

| | | I've set my sights on a British Ministry of Defence Land Rover Series. The only mods I'll make are to mount a winch on it, paint it olive drab, and weld a strong box into the back.
Posted by IDChris I'm currently working on getting some military blackout lights, or "Sneaklight", since I do most exploring in the dead of night. |
Could you get me some information about these?
