Do you not have better locations in MS than an abandoned golf course? Isn't that essentially just a well kept field with 18 holes in it? I've only been to MS once, and there were lots of fields.

Well, there isn't much down on the coast that hasn't been redeveloped, especially after katrina. And supposedly there's snack huts half sunken into a bayou, and a house up at the top of a hill that didn't get flooded, and hasn't been touched for years

You cannot shoot someone just because they criminally intruded into your home in most states. HOWEVER, you can use deadly force against someone who has criminally intruded into your home as long as you can articulate that you did so because you were in fear for your life. It doesn't matter much if that fear was determined to be unfounded after the fact (i.e. the intruder was a 13 year old, 105lb kid high on gold spray paint), just as long as you can articulate having that fear at the time of the incident.

/-/oolie

P.S. Phuck no, I'm not an attorney...

In PA the burden of proof is on the intruder.
I assume that anyone that breaks in or commits a serious crime in a building with people present intends to do bodily harm to them.
Many times at close range there's very little time to safely issue commands and wait for compliance without risking your life.
Trust me if someone breaks in your place in the middle of the night, you will feel fear.
Even with canines and wild animals I try harsh words first, if there's time...

You are also empowered to use lethal force to protect your livelihood or stop a fleeing felon (armed robber, rapist, or murder) if need be. This is gray area shit, but in this state those committing serious crimes have limited rights on private property. The law clearly favors the owner, by intent.

If you see mikey in your miniature golf coarse parking lot, please don't shoot him.
All he's packing is his camera....

Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in.

Why do they shoot people on golf courses?

My father in Law lives in Ocean Springs and says there is lots of shit to see down there. The storm made even more to see.

The Gulf Towers are a perfect example of an abandoned high rise apartment building.

Edit- I guess its not really exploring unless you shoot the same old asylums everyday. Yawn.

When you go in that golfcourse, bring a bag of clubs and dress like a golfer. Anyone who wants to shoot intruders might not shoot you, just thinking your some fool who just like the challege of golfing in high grass.

Well, there isn't much that I can find, and I thought the gulf towers got torn down by the hard rock?

I'm not too big a fan of exploring gutted houses, and definitely not untouched houses that got wet, that's just dangerous

And the only good place with history in the town was the house that was owned by Al Capone, but the bloody mayor let them tear it down

I've recently wanted to explore an abandoned golf course on the outskirts of town, but some of my friends say that they shoot to kill on the site. This could be complete BS, but I really don't want to take a chance like that.

Has anyone else heard the same about a site they went to? Any advice as to how I should get around this conundrum?

It should also be mentioned that I've repeatedly tried to contact the owner, but to no avail.

Just stop for a minute and think about what you just asked........ someone told you that it was Shoot to kill on a old GOLF COURSE! does that make sense to you?! now if you we asking about getting into an active military base, or Area 51, or the back room of the White house then maybe i could see a shoot to kill policy. if you believe them i have some great ocean front beach house in Arizona to sell you for real cheap.

It makes a lot of sense when you're in the middle of redneckville.

So, went in today, it was actually pretty cool. Everything was grown over, so no open fields, it felt more like an RV park.

You could definitely tell there used to be an establishment there, and some power stuff was there. I'm gonna post pics tomorrow after millie gets them off her camera.

Oh, and about shooting and such, I think the owner passed us by, and just waved. We didn't go past a certain part that was the peninsula to an island, mainly due to the fact that the island was huge, and that the owner had just driven up there. I think there's a house up there, because driving on a bridge by it, there's lights and something that seems like a house. Didn't get shot, so that's good.
