Why don't you go down there and look for yourself? There are lots of goodies around Hearn, and not asking for such information will make it easier for you to make friends around here.
PS: Asking for info like what's security like will result in a 98% chance of flaming.

I was suprised you'd ask if you went out all the way to camp Burwash if your from here and not to hearn. Post some shots, it helps people see what your doing and to get to know you better.

I really liked Camp Burwash. I wish I could have spent a whole day there. Did you see any elk, bears or rattlesnakes? We didn't see much wildlife walking in, but the whole area itself is very scenic and beautiful. No wonder its owned by the government!

Soooo, i did what you said, It was freeking awsome. As simple as the advice was it gave me a better idea of what to do, i just hate going out not knowing much about a site but i went looked around and meet some other explorers looking around the site(Oxygen8 and his boys)and made entry together. It was great meeting other explorers and sharing in the experience of exploring together. The view of Toronto all lit up from the roof was spectacular
Happy and safe Exploring UER

| | | Not sure if this has been posted before, but on the Portlands Energy website (the generator they're putting in beside Hearn) talks about why they didn't use the old Hearn site: 3 - Why not use the existing Hearn Station? The cost of renovating and retrofitting the existing Hearn station would be prohibitively expensive. That aside, the Hearn plant is currently leased by Ontario Power Generation to Studios of America, which plans to develop film production facilities on the property - a use very consistent with the waterfront vision of the Toronto Waterfront Revitalization Corporation.

| | | yeah we definitely saw old signs that said "SET ----->" or "Lunch------>" so it has been used for a few shoots, i heard a story of one explorer stumbling on a rap video shoot, but recently i've read that all plans that Studios of America had were scrapped. There is however some other studio being built down there that you have to drive by to get to unwin.

Wikipedia's surprisingly long article on Hearn agrees with you. In 2002, the OPG announced that Studios of America and Comweb Group, headed by Paul Bronfman would be leasing the property of the former generating station and had plans to construct a 300,000 sq. foot multipurpose film production studio called Great Lakes Studios on the site. Most of the boilers and a large amount of other equipment were removed and sent to the scrapyard. This movie studio project was abandoned in 2006. Although the station did not become a movie studio, the R.L. Hearn interior and grounds were used in a number of movie productions over the years.

That makes a bit more sense, since the last time I was down there I chatted with a Hydro crew and they thought the building would be demolished sometime in 2008...

Large scale demolitions usually have a fair bit of warning ahead of them. Especially when there's a 705 foot smoke stack involved.
