Leftover clutter

Man I wish I would of entered this house sooner. It appears they're prepping it for demolition. Most of the wood floors or carpets have been torn up, sinks are missing, lots of junk's piled in the corners. I recall seeing boxes of stuff through the windows, but I assume things were a bit more organized at some point...

1 - Last minute cleaning?

3 - That basement gave me the creeps!

4 - Looking out a window.

I hate to use this term, but they look very 'snap-shot' like. Especially in #2. The overall composition of the photos is weak.

#1 has a good look to it, but I would have moved the camera off to the left some more, or moved it some other way so the windows wouldn't be such a distraction. Usually, by taking the exposure slightly darker, you can get rid of the Halo effect around the window edges, too.

Some quick rules I try to follow when I take pictures, which I think would help with the other shots:

~ The simpler, the better.
~ Try to capture as much of something as possible, or none of it, rather than half, leaving an incomplete look. (ex: window edge in #4, foreground chair in #3)

I would also suggest a polarization filter, to reduce the reflection off the wooden cabinets.

I hope that helps

thats some trippy looking wall paper in #2. If the place is being demo'd and you love close by, should take some of the junk and try to sell it on Craigs List.

They just started demo'ing a apartment complex next to me. once the crew leaves I'm going to go over and explore.

Furious D : Yeah, I still tend to be a bit "snapshotty". #2 was mostly to show how cluttered the rest of the room was. I just found it amusing how that vacuum was sitting there in the clean area

As for #1, I really didn't have many other places to go. The adjacent wall also had windows! And exposure, I tend to take my photos at around -.25. Eh, it was just a bad but I still find it amusing!

u25680 - They had some weird wallpaper around that place. Hehe, layers of it, too. As for taking stuff, I'm seriously considering it! There's a sewing machine that looks almost new, an old typewriter, and I'm sure other things. I know the place beside it had a decent looking microwave, a few large laminators, and tons of other things which I'm sure are in a landfill now...

Well thanks for the advice. I'm still trying. I actually took some today elsewhere. I might make a post about it.
