I've always been drawn to cemeteries, especially the older ones. Some people find them creepy or eerie, whereas I find them calming and peaceful. I find old gravestones fascinating, but at the same time I'm saddened when I see vandalism done to them.

#10 made me shake my head. That person only lived 29 days? PHSEW!!! Also...#12 seems STRANGELY FAMILIAR...lol!

Softly creeping through
Empty hallways decades old,
glimpsing history.

I agree with you -- there's a cemetary very close to the house of a good friend of mine, and I love going to walk there in the evening. (Especially when there's fog, because it makes it seem so much more self-contained; you can't see the road only a few feet from the oldest stones.)

Beautiful pictures of those grave stones -- my morbid fascinations especially draw me to number seven.

Makes me want to break out the ol' camera on the next foggy day we get ... Hmmm ... I think you may have inspired me. ^^

Cemetaries are always fun. If you are ever in Washington D.C check out Congressional Cemetary. It is filled with all sorts of historical people.

40+ year olds with Myspace pages are not cool, they are pediphiles on the prowl. Buyer beware.

I find it like looking at work.

Try changing your camera angle when shooting markers. Get down in the grass...

yeah i was thinking that afterwards when looking through the pics. i'll have to wait a few weeks to do that when the whiplash injury calms down...but i will be doing more cemeteries when i get the chance.

I also noticed it but for a different reason. The text is in finnish, which is my native language.

It says "Here rests our child Alli Kaarina, born in Copper Cliff ..."

Where is this cemetery?
