Every time I go there with my usual crew, I'm the only one who wears it. I think the stench there is downright horrible.

The mold infestation from water damage, shit from rodent infestation, trapped birds, decomposing rodents & bird and asbestos, I really don't like going there without wearing my respirator. The only trip I didn't wear it, the stench was more than slightly bothersome.

No, but after tonight; I'm giving consideration to investing in one. I walked out with the flavor of decay and godawful coating my tongue.

Haha, why didn't you say anything? I wasn't bothered at the time, but I actually had a P100 half-face respirator in my bag just in case... (my dad was a construction worker) even the wipes to clean it with. I didn't even think about it once we were in there.

You know, I didn't even notice until we had gotten back to the car, and it had faded by the time I got home. Really, I don't know that I would have imposed upon yer respirator, had I known you had one. Because I'm made from Brutal Death Metal, which cannot be contained by breathing apparatus.

I don't know what the hell happened to this thing, but the hair, dried up decayed parts are ready to become airborne. Well to me, it's an inhalation hazard, so wear ya mask!

Um I just steal Junix's ...well I didn't really steal it so much as borrowed it....I've been in once without it (before I started borrowing his) and ugh the smell in some spots. I'm always the only one that wears a respirator in general...I don't care...But then again I refuse to step foot in the flour mill again...

That circular hand washing basin still worked somewhat and there's a hiss from leaking water.

Leaking water + lots of organic matter = hmmm toxic molds

Dinner!

Reminds me of a place here in CA. Didn't wear anything, but judging by the smell and wondering why my lungs were closing, I know now not to go back in there. But I'm gonna do it anyhow. Cool place.

Yup... good times.

It might have changed since the water leak stopped. It was a time when there were tons of bugs crawling around. Wear long shirt/pants and wear bug spray with tick protection and you should be fine. I just won't go back there. Two and half months of antibiotics again no thank you. Plus the MD didn't believe it was lyme...so I had to convince him of that. Check yourself for bug bites and black specks.....My tick was long gone....but he left his mark.

Ticks arent a big deal I think I must have been bitten by about twenty by now you just check yourself over after being in the mill pull em out if you find any and pull their heads off to kill them if you get them early you can't get lyme disease. Oh and I don't wear a respirator in the mill mainly because I don't have one and I get used to the smell after I'm in there long enough. Are you talking about the wash basin in the locker rooms? That one still works properly just pull the foot pedal up and prop it up with something if it starts leaking.

The leak was coming out of cracks in the wall. There were puddles of water with a constant flow of water coming out. It has since stopped. Ticks are fine as long as they don't carry Lyme Disease. If they do then you're fucked, especially if you don't notice or don't get a bullseye rash, which is the first indication you have it. Most ticks don't carry Lyme. But you can't tell which does and which doesn't.....until after you're already bit. Once they bite you and their crap gets into your blood, you can still pull them out but if they've already bit you and they carry Lyme then you got it. Getting Lyme Disease once doesn't give you any sort of immunity either....

We went into the flooded basement during the worst infestation last summer and we didn't get a single bug bite. We wore a strong DEET based repellent (25% or so, the "deep woods" type) and it effectively kept bugs off.

Well duh that's what I already said! Bug spray WITH tick protection is your friend.
