My sincere condolences to the family and friends of wysiwyg.

This has been a dark week. A really sweet lady at my work died yesterday as well. Death seems a little closer than comfortable right now. I hope everyone takes a moment to experience the warmth even when its subzero.

like I said, ban on death.

I know you mean good, but you sound like you are trying to make light out of someones death. Stop it.

My dear, in my household death is an everyday thing. It has been since childhood. Thats what happens when daddy works in emergency services. Dont tell me how to deal, hun.

And I really do mean that none of you are allowed to die. Not until I am dead. (you have no idea how much I am not kidding)

Well except for people I hate. They can die faster. lol

My mom works at children's hospital. I know how you feel.

This is truly a sad week. Even with the earlier developments, we shouldn't let that overshadow the death of this member. I never met him, or personally talked to him, but ya know, it's a sad thing for all explorers to deal with a loss in the community..

I also worked in the emergency response field as a volunteer for 4 years. When the people who you see splattered across the road, or dead inside cars are complete strangers it is easy to just shrug it off like nothing happened.

However, dealing with family members (who will often arrive at the scene), always brings up some emotional sympathy - especally if their family member was just innocently killed by a drunk driver, or some teens in a stolen car out for a joyride.

If you know someone, then it is even worse. I couldn't imagine how bad I would feel if I pulled up on scene and it was my aunt or uncle who was dead or seriously hurt. Being in that profession does not make one immune to death, it only adds blinders which one can close to shut out the death of strangers.

People die every day. As I said before, in a community of 15000 people, you will have atleast one death a week or so. That is a large community. Keeping in mind that we are mostly young people in this community however, I would only expect one death every couple months or so. None the less... Regardless of where your father works, A friend has passed away, and there is nothing we can do about that. There is also no point in telling everyone else not to die. People die young for unexpected reasons all the time. There is no way you or anyone else can stop this. Telling people to stop dieing is a vane attempt to comfort yourself into thinking you will not loose any more friends - and as such seems very selfish to me.

Our thoughts, prayers, and condolences go out to his family and friends, especailly to his wife Brenda and 5 year old son Joshua. He will be fondly remembered by us all.

Ghostkilla and trixie unlike JJ this person really is dead. He was a basic member, but he contributed good posts and pictures here. He seemed like a good guy.

WySiWyG, MHInc, and friends deserve better than this sort of rudeness on WySiWyG's tribute thread. Like Dev, he too died as a result of an encounter with a train.

RIP

Didn't know the guy, or anything about him; so my RIP is as good as any stranger's. I also can't say I missed someone I never knew, but it sure is a sad story.

mourning in itself is a selfish act. I have lost many, I know this. It's not a bad thing to mourn, it is selfish, but good.

The dead do not hurt anymore, we do not cry for them. We cry for ourselves, as we are the ones left behind, left to live without them.

I say I must go first, but I know that I am always going to be the one left behind. I'm needed here. It doesnt please me, but I know why.

The death of Chris is a very tragic thing. This world is a beautiful and terrible place. Chris is now beyond the reach of it's pain, but he can still see it's beauty. Know this and cry. Not for him, but for yourself. That you must walk these halls of rotting floors and peeling paint without him. Be angered not that his life is over for him (for it is not), but that his life has been stolen from ours, from his family's.

Goodnight Chris, we shall see you when morning comes.

I think perhaps it is time for a lock on this thread.

Everyone has their purpose here on earth. Every human being is as important as you or your friends. I am not saying we cry for the dead, however sympathy for the loved ones who were close to the person is not only expected, but thoughtful. I myself have never shed a tear for anyones death, however I do comfort the people who were close to them and offer condolences. In no way is that selfish. Often times, as in this case, the person who died were the lifeblood of the family, making the money in order to keep a fqamily fed and have a roof over their head. A sudden loss of such an important member of the family is devistating for the family and as such they should be comforted.

Also, please drop the holier then thou attitude - it gets annoying.

I would like to extend my condolences to the family. This is a sad day for all of us here, who enjoyed his company. An even sadder for his family, who will have this void indefinitely.
