I use to go there when I was a kid too, was awesome until they filmed "Ernest Goes To Camp" there and basically caused the camp's demise.

Seriously though, the place looks awesome and reminds me a lot of my days of going to Boy Scout camps which was really only a few years ago. I now have family that lives out in Cali and maybe if I am lucky enough to go visit, I could find this place and check it out.

The idea that a movie, even an Ernest one, would cause a camp's demise I thought would be obvious enough to be a joke; I even added the smileyface to further that point.

**I do love that movie though, by far one of the best he made.

Went there. Absolutely amazing! Found the arboretum area, but not too many buildings...

I'll add a few more pics when I get a chance.

We did have a visitor when we were there though. Weird. Came, stared at us, and then left.

Also found a new place, but more on that later.

I'm glad I got to go back to this site... forgot my damn camera though! I'm glad Ryan brought his to catch the places I didn't even see on my first journey. The new location has the possibility to be almost as cool as this place, can't wait to get back out there!

I'd like to go back as I don't like some of the ones I took. =c) There were two areas I want to see again: the main house and the access road. But at least I got to see what was there.

Man, this place looks pretty decent. If only I was still in the Bay...

I'll have to check it out this winter.

i just went up there on saturday. I decided to stop by an open house they were having a little more up the road. i was curious as to what the houses up there looked like. It was pretty cool, nothing really special. The camp was aweome tho. My friend and i spent 2 hrs there just walking around. Some of the tire tracks looked pretty fresh and i'm sure PG&E has to go up there every once and a while to take care of the power lines. overall a great find
