I'm from the southern part of the state, Proctorville, which is a stone's throw from Ironton and its tunnel (which I have yet to see). I also lived in Columbus for a year, and now go to school in WV.

cleveland!

...and to everyone who was talking about columbus coated fabrics, i was planing on heading down there for one last visit. wouldnt mind meeting up with a few people for it. the last time i was there, there was a homeless guy's bonfire burning in the south end of the complex and it smelled really strong of chemicals. so i walked out into an open area to get away from it and this really well dressed black guy came around the corner and started telling us that he used to be a security officer there when the factory was still in operation. then he started talking to us about how the caucasians are making black people stupid. he talked to us for almost an hour in the freezing cold.
anyone know what those strange little colored rocks are that were all over that place?

good call. i figured they had something to do with the dyeing process, but i dont know enough about that stuff to figure out exactly what they would have been used for.

ever checked out the smaller abandoned complex just a few blocks southwest of C fab? theres a ton of little white cone shaped rocks all over that place. no idea what those are either.

hmm......i got the 12 point high score, so finding someone willing to drive me down there might be difficult, but i'll try. i'd love see that place again before its gone, and it'd be cool to meet up with some people.

I hit up CCF with Cait today. I was a little disappointed at how gutted it was. Ill give it points for how massive it is though. At times it felt like walking through an abandoned city. We ran into some taggers and a scrapper. Pretty cool place, just wish there was more than big empty rooms. However, meeting a new person in my new town was a plus. Thanks again Cait.

I'm from cleveland. this is my first post although i've been exploring as long as i can remember. i got into some trouble recently and so i need to take a break for a little while, which is why i signed up here. cleveland has a lot to offer, lots of sections of old abandoned subways, tons of buildings, and the bridges which I'm a big fan of. so if anyone thinks cleveland is boring, although i gotta keep myself out of trouble, i would love to try and change your minds.

Cincinnati, yes i've always wanted to see your abandoned subways i hear they are quite more extensive then ours. cleveland's are blocked off in sections so i've yet to see the whole picture but they do have some very interesting features and getting in is always a welcome challenge.

^Unfortunately the Cincinnati subways are pretty well sealed from the bordering I-75 entrances. I've heard reports that you can get there through man holes and where the one above ground station once stood in over the rein but all those reports are kind of sketchy. Does Cleveland also have an active subways as well as abandoned tunnels? I'd love to see the Cincy ones, however due to the fact that one of the city's water mains runs through the tunnels I think the police may have cameras at the I-75 entrances due to the threat of terrorism or they feel someone may tamper with the water main. The cincy tunnels are pretty flooded too but I've never heard reports of rats. They'd be quite the challenge, and a risky one, but something I'd love to see.

cleveland has no active subway. we do have rapid transit lines, but they run in a chunnel, so its not like a real subway. the abandoned subway isnt much to explore. while its still a lot of fun, all it really is, is two abandoned subway stations, separated by a bridge that runs over the cuyahoga river. they open it up for the public to walk around in once or twice a year.

Forget the Cincinnati subways. Theyre all sealed and monitored pretty extensively. Plus, theyre not even really that great.
