Actually I didnt give a location to an entrance, and you clearly arent reading any of my posts that I am making because you are making the same statements over and over! I did make other posts above on the cmp page about locations that they have most likely destroyed, but in this post, NONE at all. Thats ok though, you clearly couldnt give a rats ass, and I dont blame you, if i was the MOD id be doing the same thing. Just erasing the msg and writing a reason would be a time saver, and would prevent posts like these.

Crossfire:No, this wasnt an AHAHAHAH, KOOL!, , THATS AWSOME post

also, if your so concerned about entrance info, why not just delete all my other posts on that thread, maybe you ment to delete one of my posts and accidently deleted the wrong one...anyways im done

Y2KJ5

Perhaps I restate what I said because you're not listening? Imagine!

As for the other posts. Done and done, or should I say, gone and gone.

Frankly, I don't have time to explain to every person why I removed a post -- I have a life outside UER, you see. If something is gone I'd assume we took it down and deal with it like an adult. It's an online forum for god's sake.

I think that's a pretty bad way of dealing with things. If it's not explained to the person why their post was taken down, they will not know what they did wrong and most likely repeat their mistake. If you are too busy outside of the forum to do that, maybe you should let someone else who is willing to take the time handle the job.

There is a reason that the mods who they are. More often than not it's because they are people Av knows and trusts to do the job. They've also been here modding since the forum went up. We -all- have things today outside the forum and it's a shame if everyone here cannot think back and see that maybe the "LOL" or "The entrance is here, guys" post was a little useless. This isn't rocket science people.

We shouldn't need to baby step you though posting on an online forum. I've never been on any other one that PMs every person saying "Please don't 'LOL' to every funny thing on the fourm."

That's true if the person had read the forum rules and understood them. Unfortunately the reality is that many people skip reading the rules in the first place. Those same people are also most likely the ones who would make useless posts or who wouldn't know better than to post entrance info. I think it's just better to send em a quick note saying "Your post was removed because you ______, please don't do it again." It would literally take less than 30 seconds to hit the pm button and type that out, I find it hard to believe that you can't spare 30 seconds to inform someone of what it was they did wrong so that they don't do it again. Maybe Av could code a feature that lets a mod check off a box for what rule they broke and it will automatically send the user a pm when the post is removed with a pre-written explanation to save you the trouble.

Most forums don't remove LOL posts, so that's not a valid point, Asher.

Either way, this thread has nothing to do with UE, so I'm moving it to the Forum forum.

Nice to know that Asher has completely abused her power, but you know, what ever rocks her boat...

Crossfire : If you dont mind sending me the LAST one I wrote, I know that at least 1 of my other posts did involve ways of getting in so i have no problem with that being deleted.

I didnt realise how tight these rules are about location. I guess Asher can go and delete any posts that deal with the courtyard because, we cant let the city know that there is a courtyard! Im done wasting my breath hear, I can see that Asher for one is stuborn and wont be leaving any of us a msg that are posts are being deleted. We will just have to deal with it. I personally think that if a person is a MOD, they should carry out MOD duties, if your going to delete posts, you should at least notify the person.

Im done here....

What Asher said was "I don't have time to explain to every person why I removed a post". I don't think that there is a need to do explain every single post that is deleted. For the ones that may be a little more borderline, than it would be nice if the mod responsible did PM the user whose post was deleted - but it should not be expected of the mod to do so.

Asher is not 'abusing power' but doing her job.

I still think for the most part (with the exception of posts that are obviously trying to be offensive or just useless) that it would do more good than bad to give a reason to the person who's post was removed. I recall someone mentioning that when a mod removes a post, they have to fill out a reason, couldn't it be set up so that message is also sent to the user? It would kill two birds with one stone.

Also I'd like to point out that I think the mods do their jobs just fine and in all cases that I've seen their use of their powers has been justified. I'm not debating what gets deleted, and I'm not really concerned about my own posts being deleted. I just think it would be less confusing for newbies if they were informed of what they did wrong.

The forums I'm on do. ^_^

If you keep your "lols" and locations of entrances in check you'll be just fine. I don't see why this is such an issue. Are you planning on making a lot of "lolzzzzzzzzzz huehuehue" or "you get into X building though the side door -- you know, the one on the East side, ground level"?

If you are too damn bad, if not then I suggest you don't put too much worry into this. We have a job to do and Av lets us know when something is okay or something is not. Last time I checked it was his board and if you don't like it don't use it.

I guess it comes down to him putting so much into this and you feel that everyone should bow to your will? Okay there buddy. I'm following Av's lead, if you've got a problem why don't you let the guy who has put in many hours of work so that YOU can use this for free to talk to other people you probably wouldn't know otherwise. Just a thought.

This is getting out of hand.

Right now, I'm going to code a feature that AUTOMATICALLY sends a PM to the person when their post is deleted, giving them a nice little explanation plus whatever the mod types in for a "reason".

Asher, let's not be silly. Saying "the courtyard" is incredibly vague and right now, doesn't matter anyway since all the entrances there are out of commision, and won't be in commision again any time soon.

I totally agree with removing LOL posts. If someone posts a joke, they know it's funny. Someone saying "LOL" adds nothing of value to the discussion. Now, someone saying "I really like that joke, blah blah" is much better.

I also agree with the agressive moderation. This forum is getting full, and there's quite a bit of crap that gets posted that really doesn't need to be there.

Why? Because the city found out about the guy living in there. No sense in being secretive about it now, it's out.

Ohhh, so thats where Ninj has been living...

So all this was just because a guy was squatting there ? Jeez, we've got squatters up the ying yang out here... Of course, maybe thats part of why we've got so many alarmed places too...

Well, he was squatting yes, but he also had abour 8 truckloads (literally) of stuff in there that he's been collecting for more than a year.

I guess the city didn't appreciate that.

Well, that's one of the things that led to the malt's closure. Some of the other stuff was that apparently someone spread the word that there was a rave there on haloween night.

There was some REALLY weird stuff in that basement...random grade 2 vocab books and homework diaries and baby carriages, little bit freaky...anyways, im happy to see that AV is doing something about this problem, I guess there no need to continue feuding about this...

I'm with Av on this one, he was far from Crazy. He was in fact very cool and in all likelyhood better off then you. It's obvious you've never played any paper and pencil RPGs y2kj5, otherwise you wouldn't talk back to the Mods so much, think of them as DMs. If this were D&D and I was DM, you woulda been struck by lightning by now. This isn't a democracy, just let the Mods do their job, if you disagree, then take it up with one of them through PMs, instead of hijacking a thread with your complaints.
