| | | Posted by rz350 Its too hard to get a permit here in canada, or I would. If I was with someone who was licenced, I would have no issues.
|
Thats pretty much where I am at.. as far as I know it's damn near impossible to get a CC Permit in Illinois, especially in the chicagoland area

| | | It depends on the person carrying. If I know them and they are not flighty then no problem. If not I sure do not want to get shot by some dweebs who is afraid of shadows. Not to mention carrying a weapon while trespassing in Texas is asking for a heap of trouble. I personally do not carry more than a knife. If I get into a situation where I need a gun I done screwed up! In short I love guns but think carrying them while UEing is just asking for a heap of trouble. --DD65 UEing since 1980!

| | | Wierd, I just posted this in another thread. Anyway, in the remote areas of New Mexico I do carry. It's not because I'm afraid of some person that is going to jump out and attack me...good luck buddy. It's mostly because of our four legged friends that roam this area. Another thing is here in New Mexico (and I'm sure in other states) meth labs and the like are a huge issue. I'm more of the mindset that my #1 priority if I see something like that is to leave but what are you going to do if the 4 or 5 people who are operating this meth lab decide that you shouldn't leave? They have already broken one major law....do you think another is out of the question so they don't go to jail?

| | | i carry a sidearm (nothing projectile as it's illegal to carry a concealed firearm in wisconsin) i carry at lest one knife on me 4" buck knife, the other one (for more dangerous areas) is a 8" hunting knife on my ankle. i took boxing for over 3 years so im relative confident in a fist fight, but i will try and flee first, only as a last resort fight. my reason for the knifes is that i have been shot twice and stabbed 3 times, and i really not want that to happened in a area very i may not be as lucky and i have been, i am happy to say i have never had to use my skills, and i hope never will and the one time i almost had to, they backed down before anything happened

| | | ..I am not sure why you bring a knife because you got shot in the past.. the only people that bring a knife to a gunfight are morons and people that want to die.. However if yer smart you'll bring a knife to a fist fight, or a gun to a knife fight, and I guess kevlar to a gun fight.. In the real world theres dirty fighters and losers, I'll happily grab a pipe from the ground if I get attacked.. Also I don't mean to make this post sound like an attack on you.. but you claim you've never had to use your skills, yet you have been stabbed and shot numerous times, to me it sounds like you need to train harder or not get in that kind of position.. or at least buy a stab vest..

Ya, I remember you....from the great Fast Food debate thread from about a month ago. You're the guy that gets the shits from eating McDonald's right? But seriously....this is a nice civil discussion. I don't see any flaming or name calling going on (yet).

Some us are a lot older than 16, and advanced degrees from the U of hard knocks. Some members have a wide range of interests, and knowledge. When it comes the guns you can never know too much about how to manage their use in the field. Constantly thinking, debating over different scenarios helps keep mishaps from happening, and makes for fast effective use if needed. Once you pull the trigger, results are final. You must have things thought through, and imbedded in your mind before you use a weapon. This debate here is a useful exercise in my opinion, however your post is not part of this process. Seems to me your just busting the thread... surekill.

I can't imagine why you need a weapon in the woods unless your attack by a wild bore, or a bear. In the woods I pack extra water...

I take a dog. The cats rarely attack humans, your lucky if you see one. Coyotes not many here, but they're not a big game hunter. The American wild boar can be very nasty if cornered. http://www.suwanne....com/wild-boar.htm Almost all wild animals fear humans, and avoid us for good reason. Be wary of wild animals that are aren't afraid of humans.
