Anyway, in the remote areas of New Mexico I do carry. It's not because I'm afraid of some person that is going to jump out and attack me...good luck buddy. It's mostly because of our four legged friends that roam this area. Another thing is here in New Mexico (and I'm sure in other states) meth labs and the like are a huge issue. I'm more of the mindset that my #1 priority if I see something like that is to leave but what are you going to do if the 4 or 5 people who are operating this meth lab decide that you shouldn't leave? However if yer smart you'll bring a knife to a fist fight, or a gun to a knife fight, and I guess kevlar to a gun fight.. In the real world theres dirty fighters and losers, I'll happily grab a pipe from the ground if I get attacked.. Also I don't mean to make this post sound like an attack on you.. but you claim you've never had to use your skills, yet you have been stabbed and shot numerous times, to me it sounds like you need to train harder or not get in that kind of position.. or at least buy a stab vest.. Some us are a lot older than 16, and advanced degrees from the U of hard knocks. Some members have a wide range of interests, and knowledge. When it comes the guns you can never know too much about how to manage their use in the field. Constantly thinking, debating over different scenarios helps keep mishaps from happening, and makes for fast effective use if needed. Once you pull the trigger, results are final. You must have things thought through, and imbedded in your mind before you use a weapon. This debate here is a useful exercise in my opinion, however your post is not part of this process.
