wow

this is a , as far as i can tell, chemical plant. My dad told me it was used in WW2. He says DOW Chem owns it and my aunt says pittman moore owned it. My freind and his dad said
it was an anthrax testing ground or whatever. I wanna check it out but its gated and barbed wired. I found a breech through a loose gate but it was day. I am gonna wait until school is out to check it out. The only bad thing is that i have to go through THICK brush to get to the loose gate. If you guys can find anything about this it would be a great help to me to find the history behind it. Looks like a bunch of demoloished buildings.
thanks

Ya but think of the settlement he could get with DOW chem if he actually did come down with anthrax after visiting their property.

I'd be extremely careful and on top of a mask, i'd be covered head to toe inclcuding hands....anthrax is not to be messed with.

You should try finding out info at the library or through your county clerk web site and look up old deeds and whatnot. let us know what you find!

There was an anthrax plant in Terre Haute that now makes medicine, I for get who owns it now. There were three places that I know for a fact where they tested bio weapons, Horn Island, Ft. Dietrick, and Dugway Proving Grounds in Utah. I think there was a site in Alaska also. I never heard of a test site in Indiana, makes sense with people being so close by......

I drink gasoline for breakfeast and beer for dinner!

Buy a REALLY good filter or a good gas mask. My gas mask is a standard issue Israeli Military Gas Mask. Also wear clothes head to toe and get rid of the clothes when you are done. The best advice is just NOT TO DO THIS!! I AM TELLING YOU ANTHRAX IS NASTY SHIT DO NOT DO THIS.

If you absolutely have to do it tell someone where you are going and take every imaginable precaution. Godspeed.

You know, Anthrax will not kill you on sight..

The incubation period is something like 1 to 5 days

Isn't it based on the amount of exposure?
I remember when we had that Anthrax scare in Toronto.. one of the victims died after only an hour.

What does this have to do with the fact that he will die anyway unless he brings a shitload of expensive equipment and is lucky as hell. I am telling you man, DO NOT DO THIS! ANTHRAX WILL KILL YOU! NOTHING IS WORTH YOUR LIFE!

I just realized the connection; but my real goal was that when he told someone they would stop him. I don't want my fellow UE'rs dying because they did something stupid. Don't do it man.

You should listen to Junkyard. This thread probably has him either drinking extra hard, or rollin' on the floor with laughter, most likey both. Anthrax is spread and reproduces by microscopic spores. The kind that can become airborn on dirt particle. There's no anthrax there unless they buried a bunch of diseased livestock there years ago. The military, and/or R&D labs would not release those spores on US soil; those spores are next to immortal at normal outdoor temperatures and a threat to livestock.

Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in.

My posts assumed there actually was Anthrax in the buildings. if there isn't, I'm all for it. Sorry for the confusion.

lesson #1 learned: don't trust tips from peers if you're 15. ask people two or three or four or five times your age.

case in point: when i started driving to visit new abandonments, i asked parents, grandparents, great uncles, etc. then again, if you have to hide what you're doing from your elders, you might be screwed.

whatev.

Screw what everyone else thinks, if its cool, explore it. If I listened to what everyone else said I would not have explored three quarters of the buildings I visited.

It's clear to me that almost everyone here is a bio-weapons expert. Unless you had millitary training or worked for the CDC, you really don't belong near the anthrax. People in the wool industry get it, sheep are a vector too. We did test it on US soil, but not in popluated areas. They tested a harmless anthrax-like spore in the New York subway system, at least I think it was New York, but a subway none the less. It acted like anthrax, but isn't harmful to humans. But Blackhawk's right. I really need to find a different hobby, this one requires too much thinking and not enough drinking.

I think your right about the subway thing, not sure if was spores, or bacteria, maybe bacteria spores. They were studying dispersal technics, and patterns. I know they did it in at least one major city and it may have caused illness, even a death or two, although that wasn't intended. I thought it was San Francisco. I need a drink now too.
