Rosewood Asylum, Owings Millls Maryland was burnt down

Baltimore County firefighters have a 2-alarm fire in Owings Mills under control.

It broke out in an abandoned building around 1:45 a.m. at the Old Rosewood training school and hospital.
A medic unit was driving by the building when they noticed the flames.

Up to 125 firefighters were called to the scene.
No one was inside the building and no one was hurt.

Reisterstown Road between Owings Mills Road and Painters Mill Boulevard was closed but is now reopen.

Two Alarm Fire In Owings Mills

(AP) OWINGS MILLS, Md. The fire is under control but Baltimore County firefighters are still at the scene of a fire at an old state hospital building in Owings Mills.

The fire was reported at 1:42 a-m in the former administration building at the old Rosewood Hospital center. It was declare under control about 3-and-a-half hours later.

The building was vacant and no injuries were reported.

The fire went to two alarms and firefighters from Carroll County and Baltimore City were called in to assist.

Crews had to close a portion of Reisterstown Road between Owings Mills Boulevard and Painters Mill Road.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Rosewood was the first place I really explored, back in 2002, although my mom worked there in the 80's so I have memories going way back with this place. Fucking shit.

This sucks! "Old Rosewood" was a really nice campus of buildings! Admin was such a gem to photograph from the outside.

Doesn't look like much is left, wonder if they'll bulldoze it down? Looks like from the pics they may have to, not much left. I hope when and if the bulldozer shows up, it doesn't end up knocking down the abandoned buildings that flanked admin. I hate when they take the "kill 2 birds with one stone" approach.
