The following is from Colin Churcher's Railway pages - a good site for information about Ottawa area railways.
History of the line
The line between Greenboro (51) and Chaudiere Junction (44) was built by the Bytown and Prescott Railway as part of their line between Prescott on the St. Lawrence River to Ottawa, Sussex Street. This section was built in November 1854 and opened to traffic in December 1854.
The section of line from Chaudiere Junction (44) to the switch leading to Bayview Station (5) was built by the St. Lawrence and Ottawa Railway, the successor to the Bytown and Prescott, and opened to traffic on December 13. 1871.
The line was acquired by the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1884 and was subsequently sold to the city of Ottawa in 2005.
The short length of line from the switch (5) to Bayview Station (2) was built for the opening of the O Train on October 15, 2001. When originally built, the line crossed the Rideau Canal at Dows Lake on a swing bridge and then skirted Dows Lake. It then ran at ground level with many crossings at grade with city streets. In order to eliminate these crossings, the Federal Government funded the tunnel under Dows Lake as well as the cuts leading to it. The lowering of the tracks and associated grade separations was completed in 1966.

This map book is from 2005 so tha explains why. I'm guessing though that CP still dispatches for that line.

That link is seriously out of date. I don't know who dispatches the line, if anyone. I think it is entirely automatic. CN rail traffic controller in Montreal dispatches VIA and OCR, and used to dispatch CPR in Ottawa and Hull too. CN used to dispatch both CN and CP out of Ottawa Station.
Part of the deal with the city was that they take ownership of the Prince of Wales bridge. So this means that the city of Ottawa owns the structure in Quebec as well!
The city of Ottawa operates the line as the Capital Railway, so this would be the actual owner's name on the deeds. the initials CR appear on the switch boxes, etc. along the line, including the portion to Leitrim Road which serves the NRC's Surface transportation lab on Alert Road. OCR handles car to and from the NRC site. Supposedly the lab has a chamber to simulate extreme cold and it's effect on trains. Amtrak sent a prototype car there in the early 90's for testing.

Dispatched by humans, however in event of human error there are devices that will stop the trains automatically, ie: if a train runs a red signal, it will stop, as will any other trains in conflict with it.

I don't get rides to school, rides are for the lazy. I was just asking because I couldn't find much when I tried searching it. Maybe I was just searching the wrong terms or maybe it was cause I just couldn't use it correctly.
I bike almost everywhere, it's good for your health and it saves both you and your parents money.
EDIT: As I already posted that I live near the O-Train Tunnel, I commute along Bronson and most of the time it's faster then driving especially when going through the Glebe.
I have my drivers license but I still bike, mainly as it's faster, cheaper and good for your health so I could drive but I choose to bike for those reasons.
Now this is a little off topic so I guess this topic can die as there is already other topics.
