Let's see, OBVIOUSLY, you did not read what I wrote. I actually agreed with you in my post. Yeah, it is so rare that anybody ever agrees with you that you missed it. I just said it would be easier for people out here to have a Moderator from this region. Read the whole post instead of flying off the handle at the first sentence.

It would be easier for a lot of people to have a moderator right nearby too, but it just won't happen, simply the logistics of it preclude it happening. If it was based on necessity, it would be based on active contributing membership levels in a given area. So other places such as Colorado would likely get a mod before California or other places.

As is, having a mod nearby can speed up full membership sometimes, but otherwise, there really isn't any benefit. Well, that's not true, being in my area means I'd let you buy me coffee, pretty sweet eh ?

My request is dumb? Why don't you grow up and start positively contributing to the conversation instead of trying to show just how much of a moron you are. You have no input whatsoever whether there would be a new Moderator on the West Coast. So, for you to state that this is the end is asinine and on your part, juvenile. This was an intelligent conversation until you started posting in it.

Good day to you, sir.

OK, back on topic.

Avatar-X,

I do not see this as an unreasonable request. If there are to be events held on the West Coast, there needs to be a Moderator out here to help co-ordinate with the rest of you. Also, people tend to listen to a Moderator more than a L3. Just their status as a Moderator gives them more credibility on UER than just being a member, no matter what Level they are.

I understand your reasoning behind not wanting to grant Moderator status to yet another person, but as you can see, other people think it is a good idea also.

David

P.S. - I would buy you coffee, Jester, for 'enhanced' L3 status.

Fine then. I demand a moderator for the New York City area. If there are to be events held in New York, there needs to be a moderator out here to help co-ordinate with the rest of us.

I also encourage EVERY OTHER REGION in the US that doesn't have their own personal moderator to step up and request the same.

Is that the only way for you to 'get it?'

Wow, don't you 'get it.' No one gives a damn about your opinion, this post was not meant for your opinion, and your opinion does not matter. You are like the Jerry's kid of UER and the only reason why you are tolerated is because occasionally you show a smidgen of intelligence. Oh, that and because Avatar-X feels like he owes you something. Any other forum and you would have been kicked quite some time ago for trolling. Get a life and leave this discussion to the people it matters to. Also, you are in NO position to demand that New York 'gets' a Moderator. Besides, Drie has that position. Stop being such an asshole and contribute. Which reminds me, have you ever attended an event or contributed a location? Thought not, all you have is people (Moderators) who stick up for you when you throw a temper tantrum and need your diaper changed.

Here's some of my two cents:

While I would like someone in addtion to Drie for my region, I can survive without.

More: Also David, Alaska isn't where the nearest mod is. Texas is 555 miles closer than Alaska

Wow, don't you 'get it.'

Thanks for agreeing with me. If you meant 'you don't get it', well then that's a different kettle of fish, entirely.

No one gives a damn about your opinion, this post was not meant for your opinion, and your opinion does not matter.

Thanks for speaking for the entire site. If you didn't want public input, this post should never had been made public. A private message would have worked fine. But nooo, our little narc with the SFPD felt the need to puff up his feathers and try to make himself seem like more than he is, and all that is is a narc. And there are plenty of people here who think otherwise, thanks.

You are like the Jerry's kid of UER and the only reason why you are tolerated is because occasionally you show a smidgen of intelligence.

Thanks for calling me a retard. Maybe it explains the constant drooling on my keyboard.... oh wait, I know what causes that: when I read anything you write, I lose so many brain cells that it turns me into one.

Oh, that and because Avatar-X feels like he owes you something.

Cute, but you know nothing. Avatar-X feels loyalty to me because I am loyal to him. We've explored more things together than I can count, and he could always count on me to back him up. But honestly, my personal relationship with him isn't any of your business.

Any other forum and you would have been kicked quite some time ago for trolling.

Funny, the 16 other forums I belong to haven't done so.

Get a life and leave this discussion to the people it matters to.

I have a great life, thanks. And this discussion matters to ANY MEMBER WHO WISHES to discuss this. It's a post in a public forum, about issues pertaining to the forum. Like I said, if you didn't want opinions (and by opinions I mean dissenting views from yours), tough. You made your bed.

Also, you are in NO position to demand that New York 'gets' a Moderator.

No? So what makes you so different to demand one then? I certainly hope the hypocrisy didn't fly over your head on this one.

Stop being such an asshole and contribute. Which reminds me, have you ever attended an event or contributed a location?

I've attended plenty of events, chaperoned many new explorers through places you could only dream of. Broke ground on some of the best finds on this site, and left the glory of posting DB entries, photos and recaps to others. I don't agree with the purpose of the DB, which is why I refuse to contribute to it. And why haven't I attended an event? Same reason YOU haven't. They were never in the same place I was at the right time. And really, I think it's hilarious that someone who has an average rating of 5.5 out of 10 for the crap he's contributed is calling out someone on that. Contributing shit is worse than abstaining.

Thought not, all you have is people (Moderators) who stick up for you when you throw a temper tantrum and need your diaper changed.

Perhaps there's a reason why they do it? I don't think they're all copropheliacs.

I stand by my request for a moderator for EVERY. SINGLE. REGION. in North America. It's only fair. You're no more special than someone living in Kansas or Idaho. Regardless of how you try to paint it.

And besides, the mods have come out and said no to your request. Go back to your corner and sulk.

I look forward to a reply full of ad hominem attacks; that seems to be your MO.

(Oh, and P.S... I turned down an unsolictited offer from Moderators to become one a long time ago... the only reason I did was because I didn't feel I can commit the necessary amount of time needed to properly moderate. And that suggestion came from someone *other* than Avatar-X, before you get that in your head.)

(As I read back in this thread, I can see David getting increasingly more hostile with every post. He's pissed that his 'grand idea' was slighted, and feels the need to attack someone who made himself an easy target.)

Both of David's concerns were addressed:

1. A moderator is needed to police the west coast forums more effectively. He was told that if things get out of hand, to just contact a moderator and they'd take care of it; they do a good job with that as it stands right now.

2. A local moderator is needed in order to help expedite L3 requests. Time and time again, it has been said that that is only one of the many ways to achieve L3 status.

So if both your needs have been addressed, why are you still going on about this?

I think the whole latter part, after el nerdo unfairly bashed David E, should be deleted since it has nothing to do with the original topic.

This is the answer, it explains the situation clearly, and outlines why there won't be a new mod at this time. End of it.

Nerdo, you used to be a lot of fun... But now you come across as a right dickhead. Aggressive posting and calling respected members 'scum' is sooo below the standard of witty retort I was used to from you.

Why is this man??

Chris...

We all had ostriches. My dad had an ostrich farm! I remember one day someone came in and said the high altitude bombing of Kosovo had been a limited success, so we all went out and celebrated… by killing an ostrich and boiling it in kiwi fruit.
