opps !
Todays paper had a story about it, this boat ran aground while coming in to unload their catch and ran aground. The boat is out of a different area and the inlet there is pretty dynamic.

It depends on how adventurous you are.

On Beach Road, right in Kitty Hawk, there are several houses that were wrecked by the hurricanes in the past 2-3 years. Typical OBX structures, on stilts & all. I never ventured there, but now that the UE bug bit me, I will.

In VA, on Chincoteague island, there are a few really cool things to explore--from buildings to ships. I know that's not NC OBX per se, but it's kind of an extension.
