Yea, I've been to Lawrence Attic tons of times. PM me if you want to run a mission.

As for Lower Bay, I wouldn't recommend making that mission without a TTC scanner so you can tell if a train is coming.

Yeah, paranoia is not necessary, but announcing a time and place like that is a bad idea.

Although i dont have any personal experience with this, ive read many stories about Lower Bay, id love to see it myself however the paranoia of getting hit by a Subway Train keeps me from going any further lol

I don't think Yokes is being paranoid, I think he's making a point. Don't announce your explorations in advance here, unless it's through private messages. Although, posting a message as a decoy and then watching what guards show up from afar would be an interesting experiment...
(heh, I said decoy and my name is decoy. Never occured to me..)

What are the chances of a train coming through Lower Bay during the day? barely a chance I think...my last visit I looked at the rails at Lower bay, they don't look like the rest of the stations " shiny " showing signs of usage so it means no train has been through there to switch lines for a while.

I think getting to Lower Bay is actually safe, if you know what youre doing, timing the trains correctly and keeping a good plan. Theres two ways to get to the legendary station...

Edit: Entry details deleted - please do not post entry details in open threads. Thanks. ~Crossfire

Do you not have to worry about passing trains on the way down?

Uh, no. You use it to listen to TTC wayside frequencies, so you can hear if a train will be using the Lower Bay route to switch lines. You can also use it to listen to TTC security...

Yeah, a scanner is a receiver. The TTC wayside frequencies are around 422-423MHz (Google "TTC Frequencies").

How do you get it? ebay, Radio World, Durham Radio, wherever.

The TTC scanner "thing" that people are mentioning is a radio scanner that allows you to listen in to the frequency of the TTC radio system.

As for Bay Lower, I do know for a fact that place is busy at all times of the day due to subway operator training scenarios, as they will often simulate mock examples of walking along the 3rd rail, what do do if you need to evacuate a train or other stuff like that.

They have also been known to have a couple work cars cut through there during the day divering from Wilson Yard to Greenwood, as they can get on the Bloor-Danforth line fairly easily.

And from what I have heard on the radio and from employees who work for the Commission it really isn't worth exploring unless you want to get arrested by the special constables for trespassing.

There has also been a rumour that there are cameras installed in the tunnels leading to the station as a deterrent for unauthorized personnel from entering the station.

As for the entry to the station, it has been discussed that you can get in legally if you do your research.

It's unlikely that you'll hear anything about train movements over the wayside - most trains that use lower bay will get their instructions over the phone before they leave the yard. Security gets sensitive information over the phone as well, so I wouldn't count on hearing "158 West, attend Museum station for a report of unauthorized persons at track level".

No trains use the middle track during the day to get to lower bay, you just have to wait for the right time for the southbound train to leave museum, which then gives you 5-8min before the next southbound train comes turning from St.George, the middle track is directly north of the "Do not Enter" gate.

Counting on trains appearing like that is a recipe for disaster. In reality, they are much closer together than that, and very often you'll have trains tailgating each other. So just as one enters and leaves museum, you could have two or three more in the span of less than a minute.

Not to mention dangers from exploding insulator pots, track fires, electrical ground faults (where the two running rails become electrically charged), moving switches, you name it. It's NOT safe, don't be under the impression that it is.
