Question about Fort Howard (Baltimore, MD)
< on 11/7/2005 11:55 PM >
Posted on Forum: UER Forum

Im hoping someone can answer this for me so I dont have to find out for myself...

But.. At Fort Howard, an old army fort (battle of north point) there is an interesting tunnel. The gate seemed ripped off, the passage was dark and I heard the oddest sounds coming from back there. Sounded kinda like a wild hyena.. was very strange.

I was without a flashlight and the walls were covered with spiders and other bugs so I chickened out. Anyone know what is back there?

Here is the tunnel

A closer shot, check out all the bugs on the walls

This guy guarded the front

I was only at Fort Howard once, many years ago, but if I am not mistaken that is one of the entrances to the underground portion of Battery Stricker. It should lead to a fairly large underground area. If I'm right, the area will be covered with graffiti, some of dating back to the 1970's.

I have changed my personal exploring ethics code. From now on it will be: "Take only aimed shots, leave only hobo corpses." Copper scrappers, meth heads and homeless beware. The Jonsered cometh among you, bringing fear and dread.

Looks cool and worth going back for, but too many spiders for me.

Post less location details/information in your car forum. It kind of bothers me.

I'd probably agree with that too, but it's your site so you can do whatever you want. Its just with all those people who want a cool place to rave or get drunk and tag or whatever. I hated seeing that happen to henryton and it would suck if it happened to some of those other locations. But yeah, your site, your deal.
Pretty nice site though, by the way.

The majority were "mole crickets"... Plenty of food for the "st. andrews cross" spiders that were everywhere. Both harmless but I didnt know that at the time.

Im usually 110% sure of all my info. This is definitely fort howard. The fort howard va medical center on the neighboring site has a cop car that sits at the front gate by the guard house.

You have to remember fort howard is not just one place... Its the name of the whole town.

I am sure you have been to enough parties by now not to worry about things crawling pawing all over. At least Spiders dont run around with STDs. (No she isnt some dirty girl who hangs out at parties, I am just giving her shit for being at college)

Has anyone explored that yet?

If not, it looks very inviting...
