| | | i just remembered a funny story about lorton too... my ue got the better of me at one point, trying to get into the barn. i thought for sure it was still locked and i'd lost track of the guard. so i wanted to sneak in...had my friend hoist me up about 6 feet off the ground, ripped my pants...only to find out the door on the other side of the building was wide freaking open. duh.

Do I get "rookie of the year"? Ya.. I asked because someone thinking they had been to the max security area could have been to one of many other areas... the place is huge and spread out.
1. central facility 2. maximum security at central facility 3. medium security at central facility 4. medium security area 5. training area/school 6. prison farm 7. medium security 8. youth correction facility [last edit 11/30/2005 6:33 PM by SpookyDan - edited 2 times]

| | | Lorton Prison is a joke. It's a walk in the park to get in and out of. The Wackenhut security drive around, but only enter once in awhile. My first adventure in there consisted of climbing a fence by a guard tower, which we freely roamed at night for awhile. The 2nd time we came back, the entry was different and I won't disclose how. The buildings are all locked, but you can probably find some ways in. The 3rd time back we went under the fence by South County, explored freely in broad day light, the dorm doors were wide open so we were able to freely walk through them also. We got out and this other warehouse like building next to it, which is not entirely fenced off, was explored. This was an interesting building, yet not totally explored. You can easily access it for all the doors are sitting open and unlocked. When leaving it, we saw Wackenhut security and a red pickup truck parked inside where we were probably 20 minutes before hand. No idea why, but they were in there, probably just checking the place out for filming or some other use since the Prison is used to film. Great place to check out, easy access, broad day light is the best time too. Just watch the road and don't be seen, else you can be screwed. High security part is not accessible yet, you can go into the building that leads to it, except it's a tiny window you enter so you have to be small, other than that, if you hop into the max part you are screwed and can't get out.

| | | My latest adventure into the Juvi section of Lorton almost failed me. Wackenhut decided after we entered a building that they were going to come in and drive around. Not only did they park and get out and walk, but they fired their guns at buildings. I'm looking into seeing what can be done because they are destroying the juvi. Watch out though, because there is also a red pick up that drives around with Wackenhut, no idea who they are. These guys DO ENTER the prison, and are in a different place every hour at least. Be careful, always watch the gates for that white jeep or red pickup. Wackenhut isn't a bunch of rent-a-cops, they are real security, and they as a company manufactor prisons. They build them, and then rent them out to states/government. My adventure into the juvi lead me to one building (juvi cells), followed by another (juvi dorm). While standing in there I caught a glimps out a window and saw the jeep so my reaction "Shit, Wackenhut", as we bolted to the closest room, since the main door was sitting wide open (all the buildings doors are open here). They drove by and we made a run down the building to the main section, where we hid out and planned to climb out the window if they came into the building. We heard a loud boom and took off out the window and ran to the trailer, which as I scaled the side, I saw the jeep parked along side the cell with the door open. We climbed in the trailer and hid there. After awhile we figured out that it was gun shots going off in one of the buildings and took off out of the back of the trailer towards the fence, where we scaled the shrubs and hid there til they exited the gate. Once they were gone we decided to get out of there. So watch out, Wackenhut is all over. My last encounter, I had been out for probably 20mins exploring a warehouse part that was outside the prison and they were inside that main part by the max security. Almost every building in the juvi HAS BEEN shot at, and many other things too. These guys are there to keep people like us out, expect we take photos, leave no holes, they leave holes, take no photos. I'm looking into getting this on tape to send in since it is illegal to shot a weapon without a reason in an area. Just because it says "no trustpassing" doesn't mean people wouldn't be there

| | | I kinda find that hard to believe that they were just shooting there guns off. Do they even carry guns? Ive personally met the whackenut security staff and I find them to be pretty nice people and I didnt see any of them wearing a gun. They do have keys to pretty much everything and going into buildings is part of their job.. As far as preserving the place... why should you care, its a lost cause. Nearly all of it is to be torn down. Parts of central will stay as some kinda art facility and museum but the rest of the place will go.

It's more I don't care, but it was a gun. There is also strings tied to things that look like they were for blasting. A lot of the buildings have been blown. The security does have guns though, for they are an actualy law enforcement. I just see it as, you don't have a legit reason to fire a weapon you shouldn't do it, especially since they dont' know if people are in these places or not
