As far as I know the Delta has security. It was one of the possible locations for SEXFEST back in '04. Although with the probability of all the doors being locked and the pesky guards we scrapped it. Granted I haven't seen it now for about 8 months. Has the situation changed there?

Delta is currently being prepped for demo. Buildings have "DEMO" spray painted on, it looks like the buildings on the south end are being gutted right now. As far as I know, this just began in the past few days as I pass it often. Security seems light to nonexistent. If you want to see this one, time is running short...

I'm so awesome. It's kind of ridiculous, really.

Yes I agree. Took a run through there the other day since the gate was open. There were people working to gut the place. There were piles of matresses two stories high in the parking lot. There is a section of fence wide open, but I got stopped by a foremen and was told in not so friendly terms not to come back...ever.

The buildings are now wide open, but not sure if it's worth it since everything that isn't attached to the foundation is being carted off. If you still want to go, make it quick.

That's unfortunate as I was planning on going down on in there in a few weeks. Seems it will be completely gone by then.

Same thing happened with the Baseball city site - by the time I could get the time to get there it was mostly gone and there was tight security around it.

Any leads on any other biggies in CFL? I'm on the road alot, and rarely see anything more interesting than abandoned houses around here. The Langford was semi-neat while it lasted, but it's gone of course. (I took tons of demo photos.) There's that big leftover VA building or whatever in Baldwin Park... anyone been in there?

I went in a great estate house in Vero Beach a few weeks back, had passed it a thousand times while on business. There were tractors parked next to it one day, so I figured it was my last chance. Unfortunately, it was before I got my 1.3 megapixel cell phone, so I didn't get any photos. When I drove by today, it was gone. I did find a website that had a couple of photos... not mine, but this is the place. Gee, I just can't wait for another strip mall.

The navy building in Baldwin park is currently under renovation for condos. Should be nice when it's finished. Even before they started construction, it was locked up tight and I and some others tried to get in. No Dice. Now, there is a more secure fence around it and a construction trailer parked nearby.

Oh, I didn't realize they were using that for condos. When I drove through there for work, there was a wide open door... of course this was a couple of months ago. I was tempted to go in, but had a real tight schedule and was on the clock.

How about that zombie hotel in Ocoee, the Colony Plaza? I know hotels are boring-ish, but has anyone gone in? Looked wide open yesterday, but I was on the clock as usual. I imagine the authorities watch that place alot closer since that fire on the top floor last year.

Anyhow, if anyone's looking for a tagalong on an upcoming run, I'm interested. I've only poked around a few places, and would like to see more. I don't have ninja-like skills, or million dollar equipment... but at least I generally smell ok, and I don't usually do anything stupid...

Here's the update guys:

Splendid China: I recently made a post with new pictures. most of the things that made it fantastic are gone, but still fun to go, you can see the pictures on the photography section.

Hotel in Universal. I've been there, awesome place with convention center, 3 pools, club/ cabana/ computer room, and they had a huge place for weddings and such. Its begin demolished now with one of those earth diggers with a claw. I'm gona get pictures before its gone. I give it 1 1/2 months before its dirt. I went there 1 week ago and just walking, lalala... then I turn a corner and I'm 3 feet from the Orange county police patrol and 8 feet from the cop. I swear I felt my hairs stand up. If I would have scratched the dirt with my shoe I would have been caught. Now they got rent-a-cop with direct radio to cops, b/c there's construction equipment there and they don't want people stealing it.

Florida bible college: I went there it was awesome, now only this is left: one side there's concrete on the floor where a road used to be, the other side has: A mountain of dirt about 8 feet high, a old water heater, 4 pipes and a car tire.

Haunted mansion: Still standing
Mazing place, still there
Xanadu: only the sing, and prolly will be demolished to expand 192.

But there's hope, there's new places on the radar, the thing is

Florida=Expensive realestate= no place for old Buildings.

Any of you guys been to the power plant. I've been several times and It's still my favorite location. Still semi-active for storage and stuff, but it's slowly being dismantled from the inside out. It is industrial exploration HEAVEN!

Um....what cameras? lol

I've only noticed ones looking at all the powerlines in front. I imagine those are active since those are live wires. But i've never been anywhere near the front yard for obvious reasons.

In case anyone cares, actual structure demo on the accomodation buildings at Delta started either yesterday or today. There's a big claw deal out there ripping chunks out of the place.

Hey...I've never done any UE before, but my buddy and I are going to be in Central Florida for a little over a week for a business trip in April. We are really interested in possibly meeting up with some people who know the ins and outs of the area who could take us on a UE trip somewhere exciting but not too dangerous. We live in Central Oregon, and all we've got up here are caves, which are pretty boring and overrated.

When exactly in April? There's a chance that myself and Carrie will be back in the area around that time...

We will arrive on April 2nd and leave April 10th. Do any of those dates mesh with the time you'll be around? Any assistance would be incredibly appreciated.

In CF, you can find a lot of smaller buildings in the smaller towns. (See: Auburndale, Haines City, Lake Alfred)

In Lake Alfred, I never had a chance to check it out, but there is a pretty good sized abandoned school. PM me for directions.

I went to UCF last year and the chemistry building is pretty cool. It is surrounded by exhaust shafts that for some reason they don't lock up. So you can climb 4 stories of ladders to the top. It is pretty cool.

I wouldn't know about the cameras at the power plant. We went at night, we're a bunch of pussies from out of town. On the up side the control room is cool as hell and the smaller one just short way down. That place had such high security when we went though, almost couldn't find a way in either.
