The problem we run into now and keeps becoming more prevalent with the networks like History, NatGeo, Discovery, Science, etc... is they've moved away from a niche marketing stance and now go for the larger audience which unfortunately is usually the lower IQ or mind numbing entertainment. We're creating shows about bizarre personalities as opposed to actual information and history. In urban exploring there's lots of characters, but the shows become more about the person than the history of exploration of the place. It can be done on broadcast television. It's just difficult to hold true.
