I watched it and raged a bit I have to admit, These people buy teeth from relatives of the dead, and then crush the teeth up for the gold, in my opinion that is very disrespectful, then of course theres the whole destroying sites for copper ect, the teeth thing is what made me angriest though

Apparently that DID just happen. And I AM proud of it

Good one Jason! They had three episodes on today I watched back to back. Like all "reality shows" I don't believe there's much reality to it. I can't believe they would be trespassing and stealing shit and documenting it for national television release. I could be wrong though.

Kinda what I thought...

“Certainly what Sam has done in the past skirts the line of what’s legal and what’s not legal,” said Jeff Keane, the president of Coolfire Originals. “Obviously for a TV show, working with a major network; certain things have to be in place. So I will simply say this: when we do this for television, nothing that’s happening is illegal.”

"10 year star" I think that is the first one I have seen.

I've been here for 11 years, but I didn't sign up for almost a year after finding this site.... I'll tell you this, I remember the night I found this site, and I would have never guessed I'd still be coming to it 11 years later.. Thank you UER.

I tell you shows like this make me, maybe not sick but annoy the crap out of me. These are exactly the reason I started my own production company and wont work in Non-Fiction Television unless it's for a network like PBS or another that actually focuses on the history or intelligence behind something and not the lets make something full of scripted entertainment. This show is so full of BS it's not even really Urban Exploring related. They show very little of the place and very little history. Basically they found a group of people who were "unique" that salvage materials out of buildings. Not Copper Piping, wiring, scrap, etc.. but they take items that they can restore / modify and sell as a piece of History. That's somewhat cool and I'm sure what they do is actually more exciting without the crap the show adds to it. They act as if they've broken into these buildings, yet use sledge hammers, smash through the exterior, welding torches, etc...

I've actually run into this issue with the UE Series we've been working on it's been debated back and forth wether we want to distribute it on Network Television or a Web Series. Short of someone like PBS picking up on it I'm going to distribute it as a web-series with sponsors because I refuse to sell out the idea and script the crap out of it.

If you guys want to see Salvage City PM me.

Ontop of that they have auctions to sell this stuff off. As others have said there's no way they could legally get away with this.

For the record, it is possible to get a show about actual exploring on TV.

It was / is sort of possible still.

This producer did a few episodes - http://www.youtube...atch?v=FoPQ87c7zek that show is worth the watch. The problem we run into now and keeps becoming more prevalent with the networks like History, NatGeo, Discovery, Science, etc... is they've moved away from a niche marketing stance and now go for the larger audience which unfortunately is usually the lower IQ or mind numbing entertainment. We're creating shows about bizarre personalities as opposed to actual information and history. In urban exploring there's lots of characters, but the shows become more about the person than the history of exploration of the place. It can be done on broadcast television. It's just difficult to hold true.
