Many of us explore in other cities around the country frequently, and what works for one city does not work for another. One example that comes to mind is Chicago. You gotta do things a little differently in Chicago since there are so many damn people everywhere. While in stl by comparison it seemed like I could just walk into any place I felt like and no one cared.
UE is different in different cities. In fact I brought a little msp style exploring with me to stl and climbed a 200 foot tall bridge, even posted a photo in that photo of the day thread once construction was done and it wasn't doable any more and it seems like it didn't even register with any of you guys down there. I'm assuming had that been a location in the realm of what you call exploring you would have noticed it but that's Just an example of how UE is different to different people in different places. I'm not going to make the claim that the way we do it is better than the way people do it in a different city, is just different. We have different circumstances here than other people do in other cities so we have our own ethics.

as far as stl peeps, yeah, there is kinda no activity here on uer from here. there are a few other forums that are very active (as I am sure msp has) and thats fine, but here or there or tampa or dallas or even nola, nobody tries to shove a dick down your throat quite like msp does.

So basically what I'm getting here is that the MSP hold themselves to a "higher ground" of Exploring. Where it's kept very hush-hush from anybody who's NOT in MSP. No photos are shared, no locations are posted, etc.
Now I understand the desire to keep a location under wraps as much as possible to preserve it - but it all boils down to THESE ARE ABANDONED BUILDINGS. For decades people have scrapped, vandalized, stolen from, etc these buildings. It's part of the circle of life of these locations. So you may be doing YOUR PART but you're not PREVENTING it.
Last time I checked this was UER. Urban. Exploring. Resource. (Or something like that...) And it was a forum for posting photos / stories / information of locations. Now if you'd like to go start up a new website called MSP or MSPElite or whatever the hell you'd like to call it. Feel free. It can be a forum based on telling people you have been to cool locations, but never backing it up. Or whatever you guys do.
*I'd just like to remind everyone that I'm generalizing. I don't personally know all of the members of MSP and they may not ALL be like this. It's just an overview.

ok ok ok ok so here is where we differ, you say "THESE ARE ABANDONED BUILDINGS"... first off.... no this is not.... its being scrapped by a company that cared abt the property. AND our "circle of life" for buildings is amazingly accelerated as compared to most places (not all, duh). for example there was a assembly building that was abandoned and last winter, people started exploring it in pristine condition in spring and by summer there was graffiti from wall to wall and crackheads living there. I AM NOT SAYING THIS IS DIFFERENT THAT EVERY OTHER CITY, MANY OTHERS ARE THE SAME AS THIS. BUT WHAT I AM saying is that its not some shitty ass abandoned house in the middle of nowhere.

We have this attitude because locations DO get fucked over, CONSTANTLY, ALL THE TIME and we struggle to keep things open. I want people to explore the fuck out of everything, there is just no reason for them to seek validation by posting them on PUBLIC FORUMS. POST IT ON A PRIVATE UER BOARD, POST IT ON A PRIVATE FLICKR ACCOUNT, I DONT CARE.

i have met scrappers at a number of locations that have told me that they found the location on uer. i know people that have scrapped buildings after finding them on uer. i have talked to taggers that say "yeah i saw something about this place on uer and decided to check it out.
