Some people can't deal with logic and want to keep repeating the same process again and again, responding to those who criticize them with simple name-calling and dictatorial policies.
There's only so many times you can attempt to show the truth to someone who blindly refuses logic before it's not worth your time. Cdevon is way past that point.
GLP: What you did painting over your tag at P was great and definitely got the attention of a few people. I wouldn't have picked this fight that Thelma picked, but it's not exactly in my sphere so I don't really have all the facts. But in fighting against everyone-- why would you want to undo that? You can say you don't care what anyone thinks, but then you wouldn't be posting on UER to begin with. If you want real credibility, please understand that the public internet isn't the place to earn it.

as for the rest of your comment Thelma, I have nothing against you as a person or even as as a cheesehead. I have a problem with the MSP Elite in general. I looked back 4 or 5 pages at few threads. it was not pretty. the MSP Elite feels the need to bash other members way more that they input to the forums.
go for a drive back a few pages and if you dont agree that the MSP Elite are less than "nice" i will eat my hat- and i really like my hat.

trolling is one of the most common past times in msp
you of all people should understand its appeal
because of the massive amount of new people we have showing up in the community all the time we are used to dumb 16 year olds showing up, exploring 2 buildings, posting on uer, then disappearing.
over time this has resulted in massive amounts of opportunity to troll

Since cdevon asked what exactly is the deal with our community, I thought I'd toss my two bits in. First off, I'm not elite anything. I'm a 40 year old PTA member who came to exploring later in life. I've been in the community here about a year, and have traveled a bit for exploring and got to see how other cities contrast with mine. I think the biggest difference is that while in other cities the police spend time fighting actual crime; here they really seem to get off on harassing petty criminals. In the last month alone there have been more than a dozen explorers arrested, some with serious charges. In the last year the city has brought bulldozers in to close the entrances to caves (without checking to be sure that they're actually clear of visitors) all in the name of protecting the children. Our officials are just a little insane with their desire to protect everyone from any perceived danger, and man do they really love a splashy news story about the dangers of those sketchy boogy man Urban Explores. There are entire laws that have been written just to put some teeth into the charges they can bring against explorers, and it went completely cuckoo bananas when the RNC was here a few years ago. Now all the bridges, sewers, drains, as well as anything else they could think of at the time have been listed as vital infrastructure, which brought all the charges for getting caught there up to a lovely federal level. So if we come off as paranoid, it's because the officials here really have a mad on for explorers.

Or maybe let us have a local moderator who is willing to help us sensor things protect our own community? I can deal with the flaming and trolling but expect moderator support when our community's values and preferences aren't being upheld on threads pertaining to exploring in our own area.

I just got back from Detroit. so my judgemental bum is worn smooth out for a bit. But I will make a note of this offer. and FWIW, the offer is good on this end also.
as for a sticky/mod change... it may be easier/better to have Minnesota and maybe a few less active states merged together to form its own area- but I doubt it, we asked for that in the Texas area and... well... it did not go well. I think Raticus is still angry about that whole Alamo comment.

After reading most of cdevons posts over the last year it would seem that cdevon is dedicated to hurting the MSP and Chicago community for whatever reason cdevon feels at the time.
Thelma has reached out to new people in our community and it seems they have resolved any issues that they may or may not even knew existed. I praise new people for their understanding, I only wish people like cdevon who should know better already would follow suit. But, alas, crack don't smoke itself....
