LOL I went there for a tour the day after they finished filming that episode and the crew hadn't cleaned up most of the props and lighting equipment.... The place was trashed and the props were absurd but apparently they paid a lot to the castle for filming there which was going towards restoration. 99% of what you saw in the show isn't there.

Ah my friend just went about 2 weeks ago. She said that there were props left behind from 'that show'
I thought she meant the ghost show with fauxhawk guy, but I guess it was great escape.... So as of two weeks ago the show props are still there

and there are actually picnic tables out there...its a park now.

The official Meet n' Greet starts in the parking lot at 3:30 where everyone will introduce themselves and I'll explain a few things before we go in. Everyone is welcome to do what ever gets their goats before and after the event.
Rasmirin, you're best bet for side exploring is to buddy up with someone at the Meet N' Greet and plan something afterwards. New members will have a great chance to meet some of the most experienced members in the forum and hopefully make a good impression so they can get invited to future explores. Its just regular ol' networking.
Now that you mention it, I just may be wearing a name tag. =)

Also--if you get lucky, on the way in the Fox Theater in Stockton, AKA Bob Hope Theater might be open. I walked on in because some group had rented it for an event and was setting up.
