Has anyone ever found smokes in an abandoned building?

I once stumbled into an abandoned farmhouse that had the floor of the kitchen blanketed in empty packs of Marlboro Reds. They looked way newer than the rest of the place

Is that snow or asbestos?

WOuld a softbox be nice with that? I get the feeling a raw maglite might be to rough.

It all depends on the look you're going for. A hard light will give the smoke much more contrast. A soft light would still have it pick up well, but with less detail. I suggest you try both.

smoking leads to arson?

Every year, almost 1,000 smokers and non-smokers are killed in home fires caused by cigarettes and other smoking materials.

http://www.usfa.fe...campaigns/smoking/

At least smoking leads to house fire. I wounder how many abounded buildings catch on fire from smoking. As they will not show up in this statistics.

It could lead to a fire in an abandoned building if you're not careful. Depends on the circumstances. Some places you wouldn't smoke because of items present, dry conditions, because you could be smelled and spotted, and the list goes on and on.

Latest reason for not smoking while exploring. Exhaustion. We were so badly beaten by the terrain, smoking wasn't an option.

I made reference to an incident I had years back earlier in the thread. I thought one of my discarded butts might have been responsible for a fire at a mall. I thought I had accidentally set the fire until the arrested the person who did.

Just police your butts and roaches, don't smoke if security is on your tail or nearby, and following smokers who're smoking in a drain has got to suck. If you're traveling with others, and they're all smokers, majority rules. You'll have to lead the group, there's no smoke up front.

^This^

Smoke can work the other way too. I remember walking down a dark hallway behind hilite and Dresden when hilite suddenly signaled "freeze". As I seem to recall there was a security guard about three meters ahead and two meters to the right down an intersecting hallway. The guard was smoking a cigarette and I'm pretty sure the smoke is what gave him away.

Unless your post is wholly about smoking and UE, don't post in this thread.

Don't like what the guy said above you, tough shit, don't post about it in this thread either.
