Posted by Aurelius I'm sorry, did you find that offensive somehow? Lmao Pretty sure my post was the first in this thread for a few days, and on some forums, people can be pricks about necroing dead threads and about how long it takes for a thread to be considered dead, etc. Therefore I just prefaced my post with that as a sort of "you guys might consider this thread dead, but here I am anyway" message. I'm new here after all, so I don't fully understand the dynamics of the forum and whatnot yet. I hadn't really intended to get into an argument over how I worded a post I wrote about flashlights, but if it really bothered you that much, then I sincerely apologize. I wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings after all. |
Posted by Therrin I'm glad you apologized. My feelings are very sensitive. I'm a very sensitive person. There are threads around here that haven't been posted to in a month, and they still aren't quite "dead". And there are some that are "dead" as of the first time it's posted to and created. heh. |

Posted by Trackrunner Found this maglite for 20 dollars at homedepot. I know it has some issues (4 d batteries), but I'm wondering if the benefits, as well as the price, will outweigh its flaws. Also, if anyone knows of any better choices for that price, that would be good to know. http://www.homedep...36165#.UiSRUDash8E |
Posted by Therrin ^ What she said. Maglites are good for beating people into submission, not so much for lighting anymore. |
Posted by Trackrunner Well, thanks for the feedback, I'll try to find something better. |
Posted by Trackrunner I really only took interest in the maglite cause it was on sale and looked a whole lot better than the energizer flashlight I'm currently using (couldn't find a model number anywhere on it). As for my price range, something around 25 dollars would be nice. In particular, something that could allow me to switch between beam types i.e long beam focusing on a specific spot for drains, and another mode where the light is more spread out, for buildings. |
Posted by Trackrunner Alright, I'll look into those. Thanks! |
Posted by Therrin Lots of other good opinions on here as well. Did you read over the entire thread yet? |
Posted by Trackrunner Well, thanks for the feedback, I'll try to find something better. |
Posted by Therrin Tell me more about arc-discharge lamps..... *sits down with his legs folded and waits to learn from the Maester*. |
Posted by Trackrunner Welp, I got impatient and got the strange chinese light that is supposedly amazing. I guess I'll have to wait and see, but hey, it cost 3 bucks, so what the hell. http://www.amazon....eywords=Flashlight |
