It's more than a little buggy, but you can find maps here:
http://navigatela.lacity.org/index.cfm

If I only had that at my disposal my eyes would fall out of their sockets, I would grow a neck beard that could catch birds, a twisted spine, and have to replace my hard drive. Good way to double check though.

Tourism, human circulation considered as consumption is fundamentally nothing more than the leisure of going to see what has become banal.

Sexy stuff in there. I gotta get back to the draining. Got the maps for it and all.

It's been a while since we've been mining. Lets do some shoots and ladders.

So... The other night I managed to contact 41n 93w while I was in the area and we went and hit up some drains together.

He's super cool to hang out with and I had a TOTAL blast!

So, I got a picture of myself standing with...whatever we decided this was.

...And don't forget the sudden jet of water that almost hit you!

Good times.

Yeah, sometime when you're down again and I have a bit more time, we can go further in. We were just getting to the bigger stuff. ...Or into one of the branches downtown.

A couple more shots from that night.

1. Circle becomes square

2. We're not the only ones who like tunneling

Yes, yes they are. There's bazillions of them. I rather prefer my drains not infested with roachiferious vermins.

Pic 4 reminds me of the cities of the underworld LA episode where they went into the old subway station and showed where the tunnels used to be and were bricked up.

Looks fun! I have been mapping the Ballona Creek in Culver City for months now, I keep finding more and more tunnels and I really want to find some cool tunnels under downtown in the near future.

41n 93w, the "circle becomes square" shot looks mysteriously similar to a place I've been...I may have to dig up some old photos and see if its the same one. Although most of the drains I've been in have not had many roaches...

Found this a while back while researching the tunnels and figure folks on here might find it interesting if they haven't already seen it... The final scene in 1948's He Walked by Night was set and shot in the drainage system.

That video above is just a clip of the chase scene, but if you want to watch the shootout that follows it (also in the tunnels) or indeed the whole movie, you can find that here: http://www.youtube...atch?v=oRG2-Vrq9yE. The chase starts around 1:13.

(Someday I'll post photos from some of my other explorations, but for now I guess you'll have to deal with my "mild" tunnel obsession.)

As soon as I'm healed up, that last step was a doozy.

Went out again and found some much more interesting areas!

First we found this little room.

I wanted to grab someones leg from out of the gutter but they had lame metal things in place

also found a bunch of different drains

This was a strange tunnel. The right side didn't connect all the way... not sure how it was held up

That is all!

Time to take a raft..................

Im sure someone can dig up one of the many photos of explorers in rafts draining....

How about getting some of these waders, I've never tired them but they seem legit, and easier than a raft maybe.

Why would I do that when I have people like you to talk about it for me???

Found some! Cabelas has 25 different styles in my size. Which is weird cuz several years ago I couldn't find any. Most be a lot of other yetis out there these days.

At first I was thinking, ooh, 5mm neoprene, fancy! Then I realized I'd die of heat stroke in them, as our drains are kinda warmish.
