Posted by Draxo Has anybody ever ran into any homeless people? If so how did you handle the situation.

I did, once. But keep in mind, this happened in a small, rural village in Finland, not a big city in America. I was exploring a smallish community center, which I entered through the basement, as it was the only way in. While I was climbing the stairs, I heard somebody yank the front door, and pretty soon after that, the back door. Because of this I stayed inside much longer than it took to explore the building. When I was leaving through the small basement door, I saw three large plastic bags on the concrete wall covering the stairs to the door. I was initially a bit scared, but as there was no other way out, and nobody was in sight, I decided to exit. A middle aged lady was standing next to the wall drinking beer. She greeted me, I greeted back. I asked if she knew anything about the house, she said she wasn't a local. The plastic bags were full of clothes and stuff, she must have been some kind of a tramp. She sat down on the wall to enjoy the afternoon sun, we chatted for a while. She even asked if I wanted a beer, unfortunately I was driving and left. It was actually quite a pleasant encounter. But like I said, this was rural Finland. And ordinary drunk tramps are a bit different than people on drugs. The country's largest drug store is just underneath my window, and that is different shit.

Hi everyone! I currently live in North Florida but regularly travel to the keys and back. I am a big SCUBA diver, and work with several nonprofit conservation programs. I haven't been able to do much field work since moving to my university so I want to get serious about this hobby. I had my fair share of being where I shouldn't be with friends in high school, but I hope to step it up. I understand that in order to get a full membership I will have to explore with out the help of this sites map. But I plan on documenting the buildings I've already been to.

Hello, I'm from Canada and very much new to the scene. I have a question but don't know where is the appropriate to ask so I'll just do it here. I'm planning to go to japan soon and have some abandoned places to check out. My question would be where is the best place to find people to explore around there?

Hi all! Newbie here, coming at you from California. I mostly go by Duck (it's convenient). I've been interested in UE for quite a while but a lack of time and general anxieties about the whole thing kept me from getting involved. However! In the past few months my schedule's been opened up and my sense of caution seems to have loosened up a bit. And so, I've been able to explore a few spots, albeit with little or no documentation. So I'm lookin forward to getting to know some of you and taking more neat photos of neat places I might not be allowed to be. And maybe documenting the outings this time around. That's all from me for now.

Hello everyone I am vindows but others call me Jake. I enjoy exploring drain pipes and being in the small areas no one really likes, I'm big into Linux systems and building server racks even hosting a minecraft server just for the hell of it.

Hello everyone! I am interested in urbex in the Alberta, Canada area. I enjoy exploring industrial buildings (like old factories). That’s all from me for now! Hope you all have a great day.

Hey, I'm Skungus, and I am from NY. I am pretty new at urban exploring but I like what I've seen so far. I love taking photos and looking at the graffiti art. I usually just do abandoned buildings but I would like to try going into drains some time.

Hey, I’ve been into checking out abandoned places for a while but decided to get more into the community of it. I’d say abandoned schools are my favorite so far, always thought it was so interesting how everything gets left behind. It’s like a time capsule nobody meant to leave. Glad to be here

hi, i’m miles, people also call me els and dabria i’m 16 and from the northern brisbane area, i came across this from @explonear on insta. i’ve been to a few places and know a few others (abandoned house in mt gravatt east, abandoned IGA there as well, the spot in fortitude, etc.) but i’m trying to find more places near me since well… it’s a 2 hour trip to mt gravatt for me haha. since i’m a basic member i only have access to like, 2 spots in all of queensland, neither are anywhere remotely nearby, and everyone else in my area gatekeeps spots so hard that i have no idea where they’re even finding them. anyway enough of my rant- hi i’m mildly into urbex already and planning to get into it more and i was hoping this community can help me do that. thanks =P

Howdy! You can call me Kit. I used to romp around in some of the abandoned buildings in my area a few years ago, but lost momentum as busy adult life caught up with me. I'd like to get back into it, so I'm getting back out there! In the meantime, I might have some neat pictures. Stay safe, and please take care, everyone.
