Very favorite, and very least favourite car?

My favourite is the aircooled Beetle. If I had to choose a year, either '69 standard or the '72 Super Beetle.

Very least? The '97-'03 Malibu. I just fucking HATE them. They're ugly, they're boring, they're rattle traps and they're generally really bad cars. Every time I work on one it seems to turn into a chain reaction of other things that start going wrong after (ie, replace a brake line, the master cyl. fails, replace the intake gasket, 2 days later the head gasket fails since the system is holding pressure, etc, etc, etc.), and I always hit my knee on the dash where it sticks out when I get into them.

I always hated being in the drivers seat of a Lumina APV van. Something about the huge long windshield and equally deep dashboard that drove me crazy, though I never owned one.

also hated:
any Chrysler New Yorker & Dynasty
Nissan Sentra (Except for the 04ish Spec-V)

loved:
anything Audi (owned an A4 and a TT) - probably shouldn't have loved the TT
Astro Van - was super useful
my Hummer H3 - coming on 3 years and still love it every time i hop in
VW Golf (had 3 of them) loved them for what they were. I love the look of 2 door versions - hate 4 doors

Favorite Modern - new Challenger. I just love the classic good looks and simplicity of the exterior design.

Favorite Classic - 70 Coronet Super Bee. I love the angry front grille. Close 2nd is 72 Demon or 69 Judge.

Favorite 80's to 00 car: 88 Honda Prelude. No idea why.

Hated modern - Toyota FJ. Just too ugly for my tastes, even if it's certainly a solid performer for it's purpose.

Hated Classic - any 50's Chevy. Yeah I know they're *THE* classics, but I just never cared for the fat.

Hated 80's to 00 car: Sebring. Put this under hated modern too. The Sebring is an abomination.

Absolutely hate the 1976 Plymouth road runner, 4 speed stick, 318 2bbl gutless shit box.

Absolutely love the 1932 Ford roadster. Lowboy, Highboy, restomod, original, 50's custom, or fiberglass replicant. It don't matter the configuration, I want one..............

If you're talking about cars I hated to work on then, ANY Chevette after 1981 that had factory air conditioning. Absolutely nothing but the air filter was accessible under the hood. I never got unlucky enough to work on one with a diesel.

I had a '71 Datsun 240Z that was a joy to work on. Sadly, it was totaled by a tornado.

very favorite car:

1988-1994 Chevy Cavalier
followed closely by the 1978-1983 Fairmont/Zephyr

my very least favorite car:
anything Nismo drives.

(i kid, i kid)... probably my least favorite car has to be the Ford Taurus.
these cars were just flaming pieces of shit. the only bright spot was the 3.0L V6... it was every bit as indestructible as the 60-degree GM.

I got thinking... I think I hate the Ford Contour/Mercury Mistake..err Mystique more than the Malibu. Especially with the Duratec V6.

Sam: That's awesome re: favorite car choice. I respect that.

i'll give you that... the styling of that and the sibling Oldsmobile Achieva really were an all-time low for GM. It was almost like they were trying to be different for the sake of being different. The Grand Am styling was either love it or hate, but you have to admit, they sold every single one, despite the lower body cladding and overly testosteroned body.

Although, a friend of mine had a 95 Skylark and he loved the car... He had aluminum wheels, white-lettered BFG's, had the 3100 V6 in it.

and Bandi, the Contour/Mystique were such flaming piles of shit. Even now, used ones generally stay nailed to used car lots or are sold to people who are too stupid or too desperate to stay away from them. There was just nothing good about these cars. I love the fact that the dashboard separates from the bottom of the windshield and peels back... swell. And forgot about these fucking things starting when it was cold. Good luck.

the Ford Condom and Mercury Mistake... hooray for ford's better ideas.

Plus, to fix ANYTHING on a Condom/Mistake, it's gonna take minimum a week labour.

i stand corrected... Bob Lutz went on record when he arrived at GM that whoever approved the Aztek and Rendezvous should've been sacked for having such awful taste.

my sister-in-laws' cousin has a Faguar X-type and he thinks he actually has real Jag. I told him that it was Ford Mondeo underneath which is sort of a kissing cousin to the Taurus.
And then I ask him if Gramma knows he has her car out?
He usually turns red and walks away from me... doesn't break my heart at all because he's a fucking douche anyway.

You know, the Aztec was an awesome idea... just very, very poorly executed. I still think the Rendezvous is uglier though.

A Montana van with Nissan Xterra style roof racks (with some rally lights up top), Versatrack AWD, rubber mat interior, combo cooler/centre console, tent, etc would have been cool. (Basically Aztek meets a minivan)

nice overgeneralization of the Camaro market... i am far from the NASCAR crowd, Chuckles. In fact, most of the people that I know that have Camaros aren't NASCAR fans either... hmmmm.

you're in the minority on the styling opinion...
