Posted by cr400 About two or three times a month while driving home on the freeway, I get the luxury of seeing test mule and prototype vehicles cruising along. usually two or four together. They have the flat black paint and the bra type covers, sometimes tape to disguise grill openings, window shapes, tail light shape, body and beltline creases or bulges. it is so much fun to follow along for a few miles and try to guess what they are, I will try to have my camera ready from now on, then i'll post'um up so we can play all year long. Hell, forever. What could this little number be?

that one is affectionately known as ferrambo. it was the 2009 detroit autorama winner (Don Riddler Memorial Trophy) which basically says, best hot rod of 2009. A car competing for the riddler must be making its first show appearance EVER to qualify as a "great 8' riddler contender.

Great Wall "Wingle", whatever the hell that name means. It's Chinese. Most Chinese trucks and other vehicles are reverse engineered from older model Isuzus, Toyotas, etc. They've even made counterfeit Audis and Jeeps there. The XJ Cherokee was being made over there under license from Chrysler. When the deal expired, the Chinese company assembling them basically told Chrysler "FU" and kept making them! They were sold as the Jeep 2500 there. I think they stopped making them. As for the other Chinese vehicles, heaven forefend when the start selling those deathtraps in North America. I know they're sold in Cuba and South America already.

what's weird about China is that I was reading Buick is HUGE there. weird.

Yep, that's what's keeping them off the chopping block. I think it started with the last generation Century and now they even have new models we don't get. Pretty weird.

The biker gang that I belong to had one of these show up, I just thought it was a V-ROD, until I looked closer. Where do you think it came from?

That black 4dr looks like a peugeot or a Cressida from the 80's? But I know it can't be. It was made in Turkey in 2007 right? I'm finding I'm not to worldly regarding automobiles. But that's ok, most of them are absolute shit boxes next to the cars I fondly remember growing up with. Copos, Yenkos, Marauders, Taledegas, Datonas, Cyclones, Galaxys, Road Runners, Cudas, Challengers, Z28s. L88, Boss 429, HEMI, Wedge, Rat, Mouse. FUCKING PUSH ROD V-8's. That is the SHIT dreams are made of, WET DREAMS!!!!!!!!!

You are correct sir, Hyusong???. It looked like the welds would break if you popped the clutch to do a wheelie. Not very confidence inspiring in heavy traffic at 800KPH or 75MPH.

This one isn't a challenge at all, but I actually saw one of these driving around the other day, I don't think I've ever actually seen one in person before.

It's funny, when those came out (Isuzu Axiom) they were all over the place, back when they had the Joe Isuzu commercial revival. Now I can honestly say that I haven't seen one in months. I haven't seen an Isuzu VehiCROSS in AGES either. I wonder if people thought they were collectors items and put them all away?

#1 and #2 are the 1970's Stutz Bear cat. It was very expensive modified Pontiac GranPix. I think Elvis owned one.
