My town is a rural farm town. To the west of my town is an even more rural farm-town. To the south a richer farm-town. The two towns east of me host former cities but there is a LOT of woods once you're outside the main limits. The two towns north of me are also rural with former city-centers.

You get tagged in any of the cities or at the center of any town; you'll never get away. You get tagged in one of the more rural parts. There's plenty of backroads and dirt roads to escape onto. If you can keep enough distance to prevent them from getting your plates and then sneak down a side road; you've got a really good chance of getting away.

When I got away from the cop at 3AM. I was driving the 1.8L Inline-4 Toyo pickup truck. Which if I was on any other road, no fucking way would have I gotten away.

Every town has that one road that everyone hauls major ass on, where the keep up-races occur, you know THE Road. Well I was THE Road in town. My friend who is, well, insane (2000 V6 subaru outback) used to take that road to school everyday: 120MPH if the road was clear. He has "buried the needle" on I-84, 150 is his max speedometer number.

Already having a good head start and knowing the roads (every corner, uphill, downhill, straightaway of THE Road is memorized in my hands and feet) I think that is what saved me. Plus the cop's laziness. He could have decided to try and play catchup. But once I hit 90 he backed off. I was willing to blow the engine to win if I had to.

Lot's of cops in my area. Lots and Lots of Staties. State Troop Barracks for the county is centered four towns away. Though, I like to joke if there is more than one Statie in town at one time; they're over-budget. 99% of the time they set up by the high school and along the one major road in town.

The two towns to the north of me have their own police departments. The town to the east of me has their own police as well. The surrounding towns and mine are Statie territory.

Aside from the typical Crown Vic and a handful of SUVs, De Pere just upgraded quite a few cruisers to Impalas.

Also, I swear I've seen a handful police Challengers around, but only a few.

I still say my 96 Mustang GT could beat 'em.

Bring it over here matey; this'll test ya car out;

306 bhp/295 lb ft(400 N m)

Interestingly, upto about 100Mph, the top of the line Police Tuned TDi version is almost as quick - but pulls back 44Mpg!

Chris...

We all had ostriches. My dad had an ostrich farm! I remember one day someone came in and said the high altitude bombing of Kosovo had been a limited success, so we all went out and celebrated… by killing an ostrich and boiling it in kiwi fruit.

We used to use Police Merc pursuit cars, but I gather Mercedes fucked us over on something and we dropped 'em.

We do still use the vans though!

Might not be able to outrun Sammy's ss
