I was in Hamilton this weekend and was going to check with Cottage 13, but never got around to it. I guess I'll stop by a different shop here in Rochester and get them to take a look at it. I've heard other shops tell other people before that their ears weren't the right shape for an industrial, so this isn't unprecedented.

Are you going for a horizontal or a diagonal?

That would make a difference. It is possible that the person did not want to do it because he did not think there would be a good alignment between the two holes and your shape of ear. A bad alignment can cause poor healing and can distort the shape of your ear later.

A mirage is not an optical illusion. It is a real phenomenon, and one can take photographs of it. The interpretation of the image, however, is up to the fantasy of the human mind.

Along with what Shellyl said, vert vs horizontal industrial would make a bit of a diff...

My ex had a vertical industrial in his ear and it was pretty cool...two smaller barbells.

Remind me later, and I'll show you a picture if you're interested.

Yup, and I'd love to see the pic. I'm always looking at my options. I was thinking of getting a horizontal industrial. They told me the ridge in my ear sticks out a bit too much, so it would always be pressing against the barbell and get irritating.

Sent!

Oh stalkerbook....

But yea

Look into the vert industrial...bit different from everyone else plus, I don't think size is an issue

With so many lobes and flaps, something if not many things are possible. Add to that more flexible or custom bent jewelry and almost any pierce could be connected to any other pierce. I've heard orbitals called industrials...connect a tragus with an antitragus...connect a rook and a daith. I think bmezine.com has a huge section on industrials.

It wasn't very bad at all for me. I had my ear cartilage pierced with a piercing gun and that hurt a lot worse. The first hole did hurt, and it hurt a little while he was lining up the needle for the second hole, but by the time he pierced it my ear was pretty numb. It was annoying having to sleep on my left side for months, though.

when did you have your cartilage pierced with a gun? i'm asking because it has actually been illegal for body artists to use piercing guns on cartilage (or anywhere other than the lower lobe of the ear) for about ten years now in canada, because it is much more likely that the hole won't be straight, more debris will be caught in the piercing, and there is a much higher chance of infection occurring as a result...

i had no problem when i went to get my industrial, like 6 or so years ago - it hurt a bit, i guess, but i like the sensation of getting pierced - i currently have 10 piercings (i took out my belly ring because it's completely cliche and i never really show off my tummy anyway). i'm definitely addicted, and would get more piercings and a bunch of tattoos if i had the moolah to do so.

Addicted to both, piercings and tattoos. Like a couple have said here though, it is hard to find a good artist...we have all seen our share of really bad tattoos.

That's very true. I've been impressed with Mata Mata in Hamilton, but haven't actually gone there yet. At this point, I still take the trip back to Rochester to visit Love Hate Tattoo.

I know that Ulive draws a lot of his own artwork. He is pretty talented artist with a good sense of humor.
