Uliveandyouburn has a well inked picture of the statue of liberty, there is also someone, Doomed (?) i think who has a nicely toned and inked tatt...

some artists do this well, and some don't....

Worth the trip, Conan is the coolest tattooist I've ever met, not to mention the most talented. Plus naptown is a righteous city.

actually met up today with artist and they were off the mark with the design.....and quoted a farkn fortune for the final product....i think dear friends what we have here is a failure to communicate

so we chatted about making changes but she was so indifferent and uninvolved i've decided to can it.....good artist but if im forking out nearly $800 for a spanky new tatt the artist better be the fuck on board with the process.

shame really.

*so this board isnt really that active these days huh?

wow, sorry to hear about that. ive been searching for about 2 years for the "right" design for my first tat and it seems that most artists around here are in it for a quick buck. it's life i guess.

on another note, I've become addicted to my nipple piercings, especially after
I made the stretch to 6ga. I'm hoping for a few more piercings soon, but I'm waiting for money and fiancee approval. Will keep you posted.

That sucks! I've seen a few artists like that where it's like they can't be bothered to draw something up for you, which is just sad. I've found it's generally best to dig through their portfolios, find someone who already matches the style that you're looking for, then go from there. A lot of times they'll just jack up the price if they don't want to do it because they know you won't pay. Absolutely ridiculous.

indeed people...i had supplied reference sketches and designs and what she sketched up was entirely her own idea and barely reflected anything i had asked for

i had checked her portfolio and it seemed amongst the ones i had looked at, and i checked several stores and all their artists, she had the potential to hit the mark. But at the time of our last chat she seemed completely removed from the process and whats more could seem to care less about my opinion on what i wanted to change and move towards.

the price was well above what anyone else had quoted and where i have the means i wont go there if the artist doesnt care for what they are doing...perhaps the design was made so she didnt have to do it or i'd reject it.
Other staff there commented on how much they liked the design and ushered my straight into making a booking and made me feel amateurish for questioning the final product. I dont plan to return to this venue.

back to the drawing boards and time to revisit some of the other artists i had seen.

what i've also found is i keep moving over different concepts and designs, so i find it hard to pinpoint direction. I have tatts already but this next endeavour is elusive atm.

Love Hate is the one good place in Rochester. Aidan and Jet do amazing work and are generally awesome people.

Plan to book at least 6 months out though if you want Jet.

I've always been glad that I don't have an addictive personality at all. I've never been addicted to anything, even cigarettes after smoking for a year. However, I'm completely addicted to tattoos and am always craving my next.

I've got the sickness...who else does?

*Hand raised* I have 14 and always wanting more!
