I can see this thread is quite old, but I wanted to give my two cents. Have you checked out "Control" or "The Division 2"? They've got some cool urban exploration elements. Also, "Firewatch" for a more serene experience. And while we're on the topic of games, I recently got into cash app games that pay real money! Found some really exciting ones that turned out to be a fun way to earn a little extra cash in my free time. If you're into the idea of spending your leisure time playing exciting games and making money, it might be worth checking out!

It's just a short free game, but I think Babbdi encapsulates the spirit of urban exploration very well. The map is relatively small compared to some of the more popular open-world games on this thread and the graphics definitely aren't up to the same level as modern AAA games, but for some reason the game just made me want to explore and find everything there was to find in the small ghost city the game takes place in.
