no option for "I feel no strong opinion, but do not use it"? ^^

I usually just kind of subconsciously call abandoned buildings "abandonments" but I feel like it's kinda dumb. that, or "sites."

The word does sound pretty stupid. I'll confess to having used it as a tag on Instagram before purely to get more likes, but I'm not sure that it did so I stopped using it. I like the term "abandonment" much better. Or just refer to the place as "abandoned house", "abandoned building" etc. I must say I'm surprised so many have such strong opinions on the topic lol.

I gotta say, I much prefer the term "abandonment" myself. It just seems a bit more descriptive and less slangy.

"Sorry, I didn't know I'm not supposed to be here," he said, knowing full well he wasn't supposed to be there.

There is a lot of stupid terminology out there. A lot of people who bash kids for saying bando say urbex, personally I think that's a stupid word. You can't stop people from being foolish, especially when it's not harming anyone. Just judge them and don't use the word yourself.

Where I'm from/explore bando is another term for trap house/drug house. So I never use it for anything relating to UER.

Use it without shame. If it's seriously just a term that triggers people because it sounds stupid then I'll be honest that's their problem. Give me a legitimate reason why it isn't just a harmless saying then I'll give in.

I use it with out shame. Just another word added to my hood rat repertoire.

I could find something to judge every member on this forum about. OR I could just drive on and let people live their life. Usually I do both

Since I started this with my off the cuff comment and you guys don't know me that well, I'm just gonna say I'm the most laid back person out there and honestly was just going along with the thread. I said it in the context of the post, which to me, would be like the same girl saying she's heading down the "hood" to hang with her "homies" and throwing out a #thuglife.

Bando away.

Don't worry, I don't think anyone should take this very seriously. But your remark triggered a response in me as I've seen friends I've known for years starting to use it and I wondered what its deal was. Actually I hope this thread brings out more comments on the word's etymology.
