I heard a lot of the locals talking about this place, so it seems to be pretty well known. I read that this orphanage was built in the early 1930's and closed down in the 1970's. The way the children were treated would be considered abusive by today's standards, and so of course this place is presumed to be haunted. The facility is currently fenced off for plans of renovation. I couldn't find an actual way into the building, but I still enjoyed looking at the old brick exterior.

Good stuff man! I thought they razed it five or six years ago. Apparently I was misinformed.

I'm pretty sure they are re purposing it into an mental illness facility. They're probably planning on doing that pretty soon too since they recently surrounded it with some fencing owned by what i'm guessing is a construction company? I know there's an old archived UER thread on this place. I'll hunt down and post the link when I get a chance.

It's my understanding that this was a juvenile detention facility as the prison type doors would indicate. The upper floor in this building is pretty sketchy. Use caution. 1.
