Wikipedia: The Devil's Chair in Guthrie Center, Iowa, is a cement-cast chair located in Union Cemetery, situated between two graves and unmarked as belonging to either. Local legend claims that bad luck will follow anyone who sits in it. While the cemetery itself was established as a private burial ground in 1885, the legend of the chair is only documented for approximately thirty years. This is it.

So did you sit on it?

LOL. This is dust. This is a bug. This is a clear and obvious orb anomaly. Likely an ektoplasmic manifestation. Let me get my full light spectrum camera out. Yup. Definitely ektoplasm.

I hate to admit this, but I've already been running a slow burning guerrilla campaign for a few months against people who always point out a "ghost" in FB groups. It started as a sort of experiment and got out of hand. Some time ago I started to hide actual faked ghosts (degraded images from horror films) in the FB versions of urbex shots (some of which I have posted here without the ghosts). I assumed eventually people would see them and then I'd try to pass them off as an optical illusion. The ghost in the window, crawling in the distance, peeking over a wall, not a one of these were noticed. I started moving them to the foreground slowly, until they were very visible and very center stage. To this date not a single FB user has noticed any of them. I thought it spoke volumes. People only see what they want to see.

There you have it. Definitive proof of digital ghosts on UER. The orbs have evolved into spectre bits and are now able to take form, move and shape shift. They know who you are...

You found her! Not much of the hotel is left. Maybe I'll put together a post of the ruins and property there.

Was hoping the Park Service had preserved it but was doubtful because there were only old pics. A shame. She was an interesting, tough, hard working, resourceful, and enterprising woman. Sadly there's more about the criminal con man gangster Soapy Smith than her.
