If I lived in Nashville, I'd explore with you. Hope you find some folks, I know there are a few in your area! And solo explores aren't bad either if you feel inclined to try that.

For any Nashville natives I have a question UE related. Back in 06 or 07 I visited Nashville for a few weeks to hang out with my penpal. She and a lot of the local punk kids brought me to the school they attended for middle school, which was at the time abandoned. I have been scouring the internet trying to find out which school this was and its current status, I suspect its highland heights but the old pictures of it do not match the most memorable piece of the building.

The building was enormous, 4 stories, I remember the 2nd and 3rd story had separate entrances to separate balconies of the auditorium. On the 3rd or 4th story, we went into the principals office, and behind that office there was a door to what was basically a giant open attic, with a chainlink cage in the center. The room was very large, easily 2000-2500 sq feet, and the ceilings had to have been 10-11 feet high, and in the chain link cage in the center, was spiral staircase going into a portal at the top, leading to the top of a faux-bell tower, where we had a marvelous view of the city. The kids said the room was the stuff of middle school legend, and it felt almost like the goonies finding one eyed willies ship.

I have longed to just find pictures of this school, does anyone know what Im talking about?

Hey Wade, LTNS! Hope all is well with ya!

OP: I can vouch for Wade. He is good people and won't lead you astray. The old zoo is pretty neat so long as you keep in mind exactly what it is: a giant open space with some buildings/areas that used to have wild animals in them, and now it's YOUR playground. But if you only see it as a bunch of overgrown walking trails, then you're gonna have a bad time. I loved it, and think it's worth checking out!

Also, if you like cranes...Nashville has a TON downtown right now. No idea what security is like, but there's plenty to choose from.

Hi, just me responding to a months-old thread.

I'm trying to be a better explorer/mod person. Would any of y'all in Nashville be interested in a coffee/beer meetup? It'd probably be on a Sunday.

Hey Sara, saw your post about meeting up in Nashville...if you're still interested, I'd be up for getting a coffee. I'm also trying to be a better explorer - used to do it all the time when I lived in Memphis but nowadays it's harder to find folks to go with, especially in a booming city like this. Hit me up if you want to grab drink sometime.

I would be interested in exploring in Nashville! I live in Jonesboro, AR (4 hours away on the other side of Memphis), but make trips to Nashville occasionally since I will be moving there after I graduate college
