My First Explore of 2016 - A Widow's View of Passing Decades

Photo heavy, but I've been damn housebound for 3 months; I have been desperate to get out, and thankfully I was rewarded this morning with a glorious house caught between the 1970s, 1980s and maybe the 1990s. Please let me know what you think... I have missed your comments greatly.

A New Season
by Ground State Photos, on Flickr

This house has been locked tight but on the exploring radar for over 3 years. I recently made a night-stop here coming home from physiotherapy and magically the doors were open. And there's no better opportunity for an unseen approach to a sensitive location than dawn after New Years. I think today ranks right up there with Christmas as the very best exploring days of the year. With 3 layers on for the cold, and an egg McMuffin to combat the still-spinning head, I finally got to see inside this beauty and discovered a home full of 70s furniture, but with subtle little signs that the 80s and 90s passed here too. I thought it was well worth the wait, and hope you do too!

There were spongy floors in this next room (my nemesis) and little bits of vermiculite falling from the ceiling. With a flooded basement underneath, I was getting a bit ansy taking this shot!

To Blame For Past Defeats

The above photo is a nod to DrunkenMunky420, who has been turning this handle and pushing on this back door off and on for 3 straight years, wondering what was keeping it from opening. Little did we know, there was a bracket with screws drilled right into the frame.

I think this next shot really takes the place through time, as there was a telephone banking ad there on the left side of the drawer. As a challenge, see if you can find any other signs of the 90s (or even later???) in this gallery.

This location has a lot of future discovery potential. It looks like it is well-rummaged through, but it isn't a all. And it must have been teenagers and not family, as key locations like a jewelry dresser drawer and a back room full of boxes of stored items, were all left untouched. As always, if you're reading this, location coordinates are always available upon request. If you're planning a Niagara explore, put this one on your list!

Looking through these again, I think that little girl in the school photo is "Pauline"

Jeez bud! Nice find. I love little hidden gems like this (in regards to the inside being something you'd never expect while looking at the outside). Any idea what happened here? That's a lot of stuff left behind!

A flooded basement, but that wouldn't explain the lack of family clearing the place out. A back story has formed, but I would hate to mention wrong details. Only thing I can say for sure is that her and husband had no children. He died in the late 90s.

Very perceptive! I didn't make that connection, even editing and ordering the pics. She's a little blonder, but I'd say you're right.

I just love that floral box and earring. The pic of the room with the chair and tri-colored pole lamp is amazing. I think those pole lamps extend even into the late 60's. Very pretty blonde lady holding the baby. Awesome Set!
