On a 7,000 mile, 8-day road trip that went from Boston, MA to Flagstaff, AZ to Salt Lake City and back to Boston. Saw a ghost town from the highway and drove over. While walking around I looked out the door and instantly thought of this thread!

When I say I'm 'clean and sober', it means I've showered and I'm headed to the liquor store.

My summer urbexmobile in front of a quaint abandoned church in the middle of nowhere, QC (Canada).

For the aficionados... it's a 2009 BMW R1200GS

Nice pic with your bike. I have an 09 800gs, so does my friend. Amazing machines for finding abandonments. Easy to hide and can go anywhere!

Yep 130k on the clock. Does have a new timing kit and rebuilt head. Transmission (auto) is starting to act funny, but I'm thinking it's an electrical issue.

I got a 5 speed to put in it, just waiting on the auto to crap out lol but my problem is that after driving a bit of distance (mainly happens if driving on interstates) when it goes to downshift into second it'll get stuck there. Turn off the car for about 15-30 min, it's back to normal. Also never go over 45 and you're fine to go anywhere. lol

GM automatics would do this, primarily the 4T40E and 9.5 times out 10, it was a stuck solenoid which, believe or not, was completely replaceable. (they were located in the sidepan)
Perhaps yours is a similar issue.

Mine isn't to the point where it's too much of an inconvenience since I relatively stay in the Memphis area. I'd imagine if I tried taking it on a long distance road trip, it'd probably be a bit annoying.

From what I've read I could bypass it's TCU module and just use 2 switches to operate the A/B solenoids. Could use that as a way to further diagnose it, since neither scantool (Actron and Ottotest) will tell me anything about my transmission.

Did find this interesting though:

2.4, 2.8 I6 or 4.3 V8?

One of my favorite YouTubers (RegluarCars) is doing a 302 swap in his 1960 Falcon.

It's got the little 144 inline 6 w/3 on the tree. His falcon is pretty sweet! I looked for a couple years before I found this one. I've been pretty fortunate, its been extremely reliable for me. Tough to find parts for, but a great driver.

My favorite year of Falcon is got to be 1964, same my favorite year of Galaxie.
My dad is all about classic Ford, but his tastes run to the eclectic. At the garage, we have a 64 Galaxie 500 tagtop (64k on the odometer, 390V8/Cruise-o-matic), next to that is the 79 Thunderbird streetrod (429CJ/C6). Outside is a 78 Thunderbird T-top and in front of that is a 78 Mustang II hatchback.
