Last night it was colder here than most parts of Alaska. So cold that I left a tap dripping in the downstairs bathroom of my house, and now there's a 4" icicle hanging out of that tap.

it was -22F here friday night into Saturday... the weather guy on our local NBC affiliate stated that the air over us (northeastern New York) was the coldest air on the planet... he said it twice like he couldn't believe it either. Luckily, it has been steadily 'warming' here since last night... going to be in the high 30s into the 40's all week... (that's in fahrenheit).

So, was there any damage, or just inconvenience?

No damage, somehow!

we were supposed to get 4-8" of snow last night into today... it more rained than snowed. I am pushing slop off my car.

i still cannot intelligently answer why i still live here.

My snowmobile is running for the first time since the late '90s, the tractor I use for plowing snow has all new hydraulics, my snowblower is ready to rock, I found the shovels and the cars have their winter tires on.

So yeah, all it's done so far is rain.
