From an old visit in April 2008. If you're interested in the history of this place the best info on the internet is off course available on this site! Check the DB for the excellent entry by SoupMeister over here: http://www.uer.ca/...ow.asp?locid=23112

4. Some punks had a party. The sign reads "Dancing on the ruins of the industry of the spectacle".

5. Recording and listening booths.

6. Vandalized equipment.

7. Lonely chair!

8.

9.

10.

11. Unknown artist.

12.

13.

14.

15.

16. This space was used for storage from a nearby medical supplier.

19. View from here.

20.

21. Secret room (apparently).

22. Boarded up (obviously)!

23. Storage room.

24. Imagine these shelves full of vinyl records!

25.

26.

27. Kitchen.

28. Kitchen sing, reel tape and broken bottle of chemical.

29. Broken container marked "oxy" aka acid and syringe wrapper. No that's not dog hair!

30. Tape, record labels.

31. Test pressing album covers and cmyk printing films.

32.

33.

34.

35.

36. Reel tape blowing in the wind.

37.

Visiting this place has become a risky idea in recent years. There were large numbers of illegal immigrants and addicts squatting the buildings and police raids.

My God, I want to go here.

Now.

As described in the LDB, did the other building ever get preserved? Or has all of the complex been destroyed?

Oh good, my slow clap processor made it into this thing.

The main factory building is semi-demolished and the other is still standing but preserved isn't the right word to use. After the demolition, the vandals, squatters and scrapers there's not much left, at least not for a museum as were the original plans.

It's too bad to hear about the destruction. This place is on my list of favorite DB locations.

Not surprising. My sense while living there was that Athens was not very good at finding value in things built during the last century. I'm guessing the physical location of this place probably didn't help much either. If it's off of the main tourist route, or in the way of someone looking to put up another apartment block then you might as well kiss it goodbye.

I guess you're right if it's not ancient then it has no value! No, it's not a remote location it is close to the main urban railway and seen by thousands of commuters everyday. Why the former ministry of culture (!) decided to reduce it to rubble and then forget about it for years is beyond me.
