Strongly agree... I was a tech for them while they were going through their bankruptcy woes. They didn't almost go out of business because they build good cars.

I think personally it was more of the curse of Harley Earl taken to the extreme where GM felt they still had the power to tell people what vehicles they should buy instead of the inverse.

I use the two examples of the fact that GM never learned its lesson about Saturn nor understood the people going NUTS over the EV1. You can debate all day the battery issues, the politics of CARB, and everything else with the EV1, but how the hell does a car company ignore people lining up wanting to pay even STICKER for a car that has an MSRP of $34,000?

Here is my car. I work doing commercial real estate managment. This plaza was 14.8 million dollars. This plaza was one of the nicest gilbert at one time. The place has went out to the point it's vandalised on a basses.

I wasn't trolling, at least not intentionally. I don't like GM cars. I draw this experience from when I worked as a lot tech at a crappy ghetto car lot. Yeah it's hard to judge based on getting cars from an auto auction, often in sorry condition, but I've driven enough of them to know, but the ones that were always the worst were the GMs, and especially the 98-01 Monte Carlo. Every one we ever got was just garbage (although strangely the Luminas held up well) Perhaps I shouldn't malign a car company from just detailing and running multiple specimens of nearly every model from the late 80s to about 2002. One thing I will say though, the build quality on the interiors was top notch.

the L-Body was a hybrid chassis... the front of it was all N-body and everything from the B-pillar back was J-body. The cars weren't bad. They were much better assembled than the Malibu that replaced them.

its a SRH spade sticker actually. taking this car to a drag strip would be pretty funny though. lol. it is a 200hp v6 with a manual trans though. ;)

V6s of less than modest power and 5 speeds make any car fun.

My car is down there somewhere.
