Some north Texans probably recognize this one...

Indeed, I do. I grew up just one town over from that place and have driven by it my whole childhood wanting to see the inside.

Lovely picture of a nice landmark.

Anyone here ever actually get inside this one? I know of no one who has... It's not too far from DFW, about an hour or so. I tried once, but did not gain access. I would LOVE to see some photos of the inside of this one!

This one is in Houston. Not sure if anyone has got in. And that Ich on the rooftop is fucking sick. Would love to get a shot of it.

Sorry! I wasn't clear with my comment. I meant the Inverness mansion.

As far as i know, no one gets in. It's like Willy Wonka's factory, honestly. Sometimes people have lived there, sometimes not. The neighbors watch it like a hawk, too. It's the stuff of legend around there.

I lived near it for damn near 20 years and can't think of anyone who got inside, either by legal means or less than honest ones. Not personally, at least. I've read articles about the inside of the place, but even those are few and far between.

As far as i know, there are no real plans for it either. However, due to all of the great care people have taken to keep people out of it over the years...I hear it's supposed to be in wonderful condition.

EDIT: We may be talking about two different places. I saw you mentioned Inverness and I was thinking you were talking about Waggoner (which is what I am referring to in my reply). Inverness is shrouded in about as much mystery and equally well guarded, too.

Sorry! I think I confused everyone with the "Inverness" comment. I meant to say "El Castile," which is even more confusing because that is the Waggoner Mansion (I think). It's best known as Waggoner, but the entry has "El Castile" across the top of the drive. I forgot it was called Waggoner, TBH.

This is a horrible shot, and it's heavily obstructed, but you'd recognize it if it's the one you're thinking of I'm sure...

Here's a photo of that entrance I mentioned:
